ES tq arm mount install help

I can't get the clamshell to close on the tq arm mount. The bolt is nowhere near the threads so I can't get it started. Any help would be much apriciated.

Re: ES tq arm mount install help

You can try what I did with my UMI torque arm, but you aren`t going to like it...
I basically forced the clamshell as far as it could go, and then wedged a piece of wood between the clamshell and tunnel....
Gathered more strength, forced it a little more closed and shimmed the wood until I could get the bolt close enough to start threading.
It sure was a pain in the butt, and somewhat ghetto, but it worked.
I hope someone has a better solution for you...

Try a C-clamp.

A c clamp wont fit in the tunnel. And yes, the old bushing and rivets are ground out.

Re: ES tq arm mount install help

Find or go to hardware store for slightly longer bolt - grade doesn't matter. Use that to torque down the first time (use washers if needed), then remove and use original bolt.

A c clamp wont fit in the tunnel
Then lower the rear of the trans. (take out the crossmember)

Use you WILL instead of relying on your CAN'T.

Re: ES tq arm mount install help

Just making sure, but you do have the right one right? They make 2 different mounts depending on the torque arm you have. If you have the wrong one, it will drive you crazy. I know.
