Its funny listening to someone who knows nothing about cars except for how big the wing is- is directly proportentate to how fast if goes. Did you know it had "dual" exhaust so it must have been a TPI IROC. My guess is it was a Carb'd 150 hp automatic. Great kill moron. Glad you spent 5 times as much on your car as the Slomaro owner did.

It's funny, because I've came across two SIs so far that wanted to race and beat them both. One was my friend's near stock 2001 5 speed, for whom I destroyed (my car being modded). The other was modded so much the guy had put himself in debt $20k between the car and mods and had to sell the car. I didn't win by much, but beat him on the highway with my old auto and gears(started at 75, ended at 100mph). So many import drivers talk there cars up, only a few are actually "fast".

No, I think all three of you are wrong.. You should know a fart tube and a wing add an extra 75 RW HP!! It's amazing. I don't know how My Roc would ever have have a chance!! Just kidding!!

It is pathetic to say the least why ricers talk alot but think very little!

Although it hurts to read it, for the most part everything they said was true. 90% of the 305 tbis out there will never see 15s, let alone 14s or 13s.

Although I disagree with the statement about having to put a bunch of money into them to run 15s. I did it with $300 ($220 - catback, $50 cat, $20 open element, free mods). Its all about being smart with your mods and not cutting 2.412 60's

hey don't feel so bad even the other jap car drivers hate civics!!! i have owned 2 300z's my current one will blow the freakin doors off my rs but the rs has more potential plus its cheaper!! a stock na z with the 2 seats will run 1/4 in 15.4 or so 0-60 in 6.8-7.0, i had a stage 5 na that would go 0-60 in about 6 flat. plus when you get the chip on there (which freakin costs $700 big ones ) you can go alot faster!!! i raced a 98 trans am convert starting at 70 it shot by him in 3rd( z goes to 90 in 3rd) by the time i got to fifth i looked in the mirror to see him about 4 car lengths back then i looked down and saw the speedo 155... so i carefully depressed the brake pedal to slow down. then he flew by me he knew he was beat though. my car only weighs 3200 lbs but i also ripped the tar up and all the sound padding behind the plastic panels. don't get me wrong i love my rs but the z was bad!!! its just too expensive to work on. i need a new starter for it 280.00 dollars, also a new clutch since the spring broke on that one... thatz 500 right there.
any way back to the thread... idiots with crx's and civics tried to race me daily with their coffe cans on the back of their exhaust. real loud but no power!!!!! i left this one idiot at a light got to the next light then he started reving on me again after i blew him away!!! wtf!!! then i left him again and got to the next light way b4 him and guess what still revin. i was also in the turning lane and he was going straight!!
i also caused a guy to blow up his late 80's civic engine!!! it was great!!!
this clown came flyin by on the hov i was doin 70 spd limit is 65 i saw him coming in the rear veiw. after he blew by me he flashed his emergency's like he just beat me!!! wtf so i down shifted and hit 100 slowed down the he tried to get beside me so right when he got there i downed it again( no wonder my spring broke to much hard drivin) i left him real fast so i flashed my lights at the idiot then he came up real hard i could hear his coffe can ... he got just a little in front of me and i heard a very lound funny noise then came the huge plume of black smoke out of his exhaust!!! his car went from like 80 to 10 mph hahahaha he had to put on his emergencies and wait for someone to come get him!!! civics suck
!!!

hmmmm, 155? aren't these cars gov. limited? As far as foriegn cars go... I wouldn't hate them so much if there wasn't such a craze for them. The worst part is, everyone wants to do the exact same things to them. It's like there is a manual for how to "mod" a Civic or Integra. I personally like some foriegn cars. My fiancee (wife after Saturday) has a 03' Tiburon GT. Very nice car, fun to drive and looks good. I would cut my own junk off before I would make it look like the typical *****. When we were looking for cars we came very close to buying a 96' 3000 GT VR4. That was the fastest car I have ever been in. I LOVED IT. Only reason we didn't get it was insurance (and she was afraid to drive it) Point is, I don't hate foriegn cars, and no they aren't all slow either. But they aren't all fast, and I wish the craze to own one and make yourself look like a jack*ss would end soon!

I hit 14.9 in the 1/4 with a crappy 2.3 60' time and a 3.08 open rear end. I think I have spent $6-7000 and that includes buying the car and a new paintjob. Thank you drive through.

Civic SIs run mid to high 15s stock. Given an engine that has been well maintained, it's really not that hard to get our cars to beat that. I really don't like ricers because it's such a craze as well, but I will give some credit to those four bangers. When that vortech kicks in, you know it. It just takes a while for them to get to the 5,500rpm vortech kick-on.

actually my z is a stage five for non jap car people that means intake exhaust underdrive pulley and the ever impressive jim wolf racing tech chip. freakin $700.00 now the jwt chip raises the rev limiter to 7500 rpm's and it also cuts the fuel cutoff out of the ecu!!!. sorry i should have said that b4 and i like the vr4's too but they are not a 1/4 mile car either way too heavy!! the baddest of the bad is the nissan skyline gtr i have several articles in some of my mags were they do around 0-60 in 4.1 sec with only intake and exhaust!!!
they also have one in japan that'll do the quater at 165 in 8.4 secs. it is an awd car very fast!!! the nissan sylvia is fast too!!! it is the jap version of the 240 sx but it has the sr20det motor which is a 240 hp 4 cyl that the stock block can take up to 400 hp without mods.
but i still think the rs has more potential with a v8. i will probobly go with the 350 eventually but for now i am stuck with the 305.

a VR4 isn't a 1/4 mile car??? 320 hp and awd, with times in the low 13 second range isn't 1/4 mile worthy?? I'd take it.

trust me there are not too many 300gt's that'll pull below a 13 they are too heavy!!! look on the tt.net site and 300zxclub.com a 600 hp 300zx tt will only do 12's in the qaurter.
if you have been following the import seen you would know that a 13 sec vr4 is slow. they got tons of 10 sec supras and rx7's and no vr4's they weigh too much.
to have a good 1/4 mile car you need great power to weight ratio. even with 320 hp the power is not enough for the car!!! don't get me wrong they are fast but there are alot of other cars that are faster!!! like the vr4's little brother the eclipse gst with the awd or the talon tsi awd. with only intake exhaust good tires and a boost controler and intercooler they can run 10's i have several articles about them in some of my sprt compact car mags.
and i am talking about the gen 1 eclpse not the 2 or 3 . my younger brother had a gen 2 gst and my na z would kill him everytime.
one of the only cars i have been beat by was a newer rx7. i pulled up next to him at a light we took off and i pulled away till about 50 mph. i am guessing that whole time his car was spinning tires cause i was in 2nd doin fifty then i heard a loud popping noise and then that car screams by me like i am standing still!!! after the popping noise came the fire out of the exhaust the flame shot about 3 feet. beleive me those cars shoot flames if you eliminate the cat. go to rx7.com or any other rotary site and they have pics of the thing shootin flames it is really cool to see and hear in pearson though!!!

I'm sure that is all true. Yet, in stock form, a VR4 is faster than most of the small category of ricers. My personal opinion is that it looks bad ***, the small ricers do not. Not to mention, its comfortable, the small ricers..... well. I guess if I had to own one, I wouldn't think twice about which one I'd get (VR4 or small rice). I don't need or want to run 10's, or put $15K into mods. What good does that do you on the street?? Nothing, traction is cool, gets you off the line quicker, gets you to 60 quicker, wins more races- street light to street light that is. No contest in my book.

i too like the look of the vr4 but the scca doesnt have alot of people runnin lower than 12's with a vr4. those eclipses are street legal cars and can run in the 10's. some of the all motor crx's can run in the 11's but they are but ugly and sound like kazoo's!! haha

Just to set the record straight my 89 RS ran a 15.9 @85 with 100,000 miles on it. This was a stock car when I ran it. So any piece Civic fartcan can step up cause I will lay one down just for the hell of it. And by the way in 3 weeks mine will be running 14's with a cam intake heads and a custom prom.

RE honda's

hey guys

i love my camaro. and yes i have been beaten light to light racing by a few honda's but manly why is cause of the torque problem by spinning the wheels. if i didn't spin it was a good race untilt he 305 built up some steam then it was over lol i love racing on the bypass some rason civic die around 100

the power to weight ratio kills a f-body to honda's but we do have torque

That is the most stupid thing I've ever seen. A pulley is a stage? My g*d, I have even less respect for them now than I did before. I'll take my LO3 over those little POS things any day.

GOT TORQUE??

you have to remember anything that is an upgrade is a stage up from stock sos yes it is a stage!! also the pulley is awesome it made a huge diffrence on my z. it revs alot quicker, it really does not add hp but it gives you back some of the parasitic drag!!! and sorry but i have taken many a v8 in my z and it is real quick!! way faster than my slow s( oh i mean rs...)

Okay, I wasn't going to share this, but it applies. The most retarded rice I've ever seen. It was a riced Plymouth/Dodge Neon with wing, thin-walled tires, lowered, the works. The retarded thing was it had a sunvisor banner at the top of the windshield that said TOYOTA! At first I thought it was a Toyo Tires banner, but looking closer it did say Toyota. And I even walked around the car to be sure it was a Neon.

How pathetic is that? An insult to Detroit machinery really.

My signature has the following Star Wars-inspired line that is mine:

"Don't be too proud of that Japanese Import you drive. The ability to conserve fuel is insignificant next to the POWER of Detroit Muscle."

oh an i would rather die than drive a freakin neon. they are the biggest oil leakin pos cars that america evermade!!!

i have seen a volkswagon with trd stickers (trd= toyota racing development)

also there was an idiot mustang driver in last months fast fords with a gtr emblem ... gtr is for nissan as zr1 is to chevy.
the skyline gtr is an awd turbocharged monster!!! poor mustangs don't stand a chance!!! i have seen some with 1000 hp running 7's in the quarter and that is with an inline 2.6 cylinder 6.
another reason that the japanese version of the mitsubishi 300gt didn't keep its japanese name "gto" thatz what they call em in japan.
