ok ive been off the computer and not really touched my car in a few months, so i was looking around and tried to bring up tbichips.com and it brought up an error page.... anyone know what happened to tbichips.com?

ahhh man, I was hoping he tried to tune up his website too and was going to be down for months while he sent logs back and forth with his internet provider........yeah ok that was a low blow.

Not really, it was more a joke between us TBI tuners.
We are talking about how long it takes Brian to get a "Custom" chip tuned for a TBI, just to make it driveable, much less run good.
BMonteSS and I have both looked over the various parameters in Brian's "CUSTOM" tunes.

Actually it's much better to just leave the stock chip in and spend that money on an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a timing light. This way at least you'll be able to make some very general changes and not be reliant on some one else to do it for you.
Brian changes very little and usually makes small global changes like increasing timing and adding fuel when most of the time you already have plenty of timing and fuel.

At least by doing this you have some knowledge as to how your setup reacts to different changes. Messing with mail-order tunes is a waste of time IMO, nothing can replace seeing, hearing and monitoring the vehicle as you tune it.

I just want to clarify that tuning with a FPR and turning the dissy is not a "good" way to tune. You can make some changes and maybe find 5-10Hp if you know what you're doing.
The best way is to get a logging cable and burner and get busy learning.

With a coarse tune, the engine is likely not to run very well. Itll basically likely have too much fuel and the timing will be off. With that sort of tune, the engine will run chunky. To get a good running setup, you really need to tune it yourself. You wouldnt ship your carb to some random guy to be tuned, so why would you do the same with your chip? To properly tune a motor, you really need to be there to see and feel how its operating, and thats not something you can send through the mail.
The hardest part about tuning is not so much the prom, but learning the ins and outs of how an engine operates. Thats fundamental to tuning anything and takes time to master.

I bought a TBIchips.com chip
I ran the car on the dyno and was shocked to see "enough gas for two cars".
I took the chip out and went back to the stocker.
Don't wreck your engine with one of these chips.

I ordered a custom chip from brian at TBIChips.com for my Lo3. It seems to work great. I know that it is not as good as self tuning but for a beginner it is a good start.
I have no complaints besides if I run 91octane gas my car smokes a little around 3000RPM.
