Odd Injector #?????
I'm in the process of swapping to a 454 TBI 17090015. There are 2 different injectors installed. Is this supposed to be this way and whats the odd injector?
17084304 RPD is this an 80lb. ?
5234304 RPD No idea what this is.

Re: Odd Injector #?????
The injectors should match size, I wouldn't be worried if you have different part numbers. One was likely replaced at some point?
The TBI came with two of the same size injectors.
They both should be "220 type" injectors.
T.B.I. 220 Type; O.E. #17091047 or 17112570 (on a 1991 TBI 7.4)
Sounds like a nice upgrade engine

Re: Odd Injector #?????
I just got my hands on a 454 TBI.
It too has GM5234304*RPD injectors. two of them in this case.
are they indeed 80lb?
BTW, there are no colours on the top of it at all.

Re: Odd Injector #?????
This is quite an old thread but to answer..
I think you meant 17084303?
Those are what they call 74-75lb/hr @ 11psi.
They are said to be your best bet as they can handle high pressures better than..
The only 80-81lb/hr is the part #17111784 or etched 5235231 injector.
Those are said to be sloppy @ high pressure, I'll vouch...I am now running mine over 55psi. in a desperate attempt to feed my engine.
There are no 90lb/hr @ 11psi tbi injectors...yet, we will see.

Re: Odd Injector #?????
I did not want to start a new thread when this one was so pertinent. Some forums get quite irate if you don't "Use the Search button"
Thanks for that info. I searched everywhere and this was the only info I found at all.
looks like I'll have to buy some new injectors for my project. I'm plan on putting this TBI on my Pontiac 400. shooting for about 400HP.

Re: Odd Injector #?????
Oh there is a ton of info out there, lot's of it bad.
Those injectors will be fine for your application, you just need a little more fuel pressure. I'm going to suggest that 28-30 psi is where to start.
That will put your fuel delivery up in the 220+lb/hr necessary for 400hp.
