Self-Tuning ECU For Holley 502-6 TBI
so a tuner reccomended that i go to a self tuning ECU rather than mess around with trying to get the factory ECM and prom working with my setup i have now.
ECM: 1228746 PROM: AXKT
I have a bluprint engines 383 TBI crate engine BP38301CT with the edelbrock performer tbi intake and a holley 502-6 TBI.
Distributor & Coil is...
Item Number: 12620BK
https://performancedistributors.com/product/gm-computer-controlled-distributors/
Item Number: 31723
https://performancedistributors.com/product/chevrolet-screamin-demon-coils/
What I can't seem to find is a self-tuning ECU kit that I can buy without buying their throttle body & or intake.
I'd really like something that'll work with what I have now, so I can boat anchor the factory ECM & Prom.
Blueprint sent me a updated chip but it's not right and the tuner told me in his experience it may never be right because the way gm made those ecm's. He's willing to try but he thinks I could end up spending more time & money trying to get my setup working with the factory ecm with chip mods and it may not ever be perfect; than it'd be to buy a self tuning ecu to work with what i got.
it sounds like good advice, just can't seem to find a self tuning ecu kit that'll work with what i got.
I'd hate to have to replace the intake and tbi just to switch to a modern self tuning ecu.
I figure somebody here has been down this road before...
thanks in advance.

Why not go EBL and just plug it in?

Nothing about that setup that the stock ECM will not run.
Probably have the MAP sensor connected to the wrong port for starters.
