So I was finishing up my top end rebuild and noticed fuel gushing from the passenger side inlet on my throttle body. Turns out the threads in the throttle body are completely trashed. My car is a 90 and I know they changed in 89 but are there any differences on the truck TBI throttle bodies? Has anyone successfully fixed a mess up like mine or have one that will work that won't make me file for bankruptcy? Help a hillbilly out.
You may want to wait for a more definitive answer, but this seller specializes in TBI systems and parts. If his ad is to be believed, they are the same. And this pair is available for $22.
Just need the injector pod, that is where the fuel lines thread in. Can get one from any number of TBI units, install your injectors and bolt it down. Good time to clean it all up and use a rebuild kit.

A friend of mine had a junked 2.8 so I'm going to use the pod from it. From what I can see the pods look identical. Swapping out just the pod and keeping all of my 305 throttle body should work just fine shouldn't it?
As said in a previous post...put the 305 injectors into the replacement pod. While the pod is apart for the injectors, verify that the gasket surface is genuinely flat.
I used 220-grit sand paper on a piece of window-glass (for flatness) to take the warp out of mine.
I would verify fuel pressure when you get the throttle body installed again.
