Is the code 12 the reason you replaced the ECM?

Code 12 is the ECM not detecting distributor pulses...i/e, as when the key is on and the engine not running....just like when you check for codes...

Did you read through the "how to" and see what to expect?

Uhh.. hello ?? You will get code 12 anytime you pull codes even if there are NO codes stored. Code 12 just tells you the ECM is on and communicating.

does your car run good with the code 12? or does it have a rough idle?

No it wasn't, for a period of about three months my car wouldn't start after a drive and the fan would refuse to come on. But now that u mentioned idle conditions, the car was "loping" I believe it is called the rpms would rise and fall from 1500 to 300 and drove crappy and slow.

more then likely thats the tps or the 02 sensor....a code 12 is they ready code....put a paper clip in the aldl port and it will flash the 12 3 times and after that if it keeps flashing a 12 thens nothings wrong...but if theres another code after 3 "12's" then thats the problem code

Actually, the '12' is the DTC for Distributor Reference Pulses Missing. That is normal when the ignition is on but the engine isn't running. It can also be a diagnostic code, meaning that sometime during the normal operation of the engine the expected distributor pulses were not detected. This can indicate a pickup coil, reluctor, HEI switching module, or wiring problem.

It's not just an "All Clear" code.
