heres a weird one. I pulled over and noticed i was loosing coolant out of my fan switch. I looked under the hood and also noticed that my rad cap wasnt on all the way. Before i touched it, i descided to squeeze the upper hose to test for pressure. It was soft, looked like the low temp stat was doing its job. As sooon as i touched it, the cap flew off, nailing me in the forehead in the process, and the entire contents of the radiator came out and i got totaly soaked in sticky, smelly antifreeze. Needless to say it was a very sticky hour long drive to get home.

Only thing really weird that's happend in my car is the torque converter decided to split open, bust the plastic cover into 5 different bits and of course just make a huge mess on the road. Found out later that if the Fire Dept. had seen it or had to clean it up, it would have cost me 5,000 bucks! The mess had soaked into the road by the next day though, whew.

Never had any problems with starting my car. Had new tires put on it. After the tire guy parked it, it wouldn't start. Tried *everything* and no start, wouldn't even make any noise. Tire guy got it started by shorting across the starter terminals. After that, it's started right up every time! Still don't know what gremlin caused that problem.

was doing about 70mph on I-70 going to Jegs a year ago one Friday night after work when one of my Proform roller tip rocker arms flew apart on me. wiped out the camshaft as well. it was on one of the exhast valves so it kept backfiring through the intake. cost me $140 to have it towed back to the dealership where i work. the next morning i went to jegs and bought the 2 things i was going to get the night before......Crane roller rockers and a .500" lift crane energizer cam......how is that for ironic?!

I dont know when it happened, but one night i was getting gas, and I noticed a cursive style writing all the way actoss the top of my rear bumper, it looked like it had been written from some sort of template as it was perfect, and appeared to be written with some sort of solvent, cuz it took the clear coat off.
it says "be smart, dont start!"
fortunatley its not very obvious, unless you look at it from a certain light.

Took the rims off the 92 Z28 before a carshow to clean them. On my way from Virginia Beach to Richmond Motor Sports I felt a wobble in the front end. Pull the cap and found all 5 lug nuts very loose! Scared the crap out of me! I always tighten and recheck now.

The cable going to my throttle body got hung up on the black tubign that does to the filters ( got hung up on the metal bracket which keeps it on the tb ) . Well , a mechanic put it on wrong and it hung up on the way home and my car was accelerating and would not stop . I was braking at the same time it was accelerating . I was on the interstate and got off , I pulled into a gas station squelling the tires from trying to stop and the car accelerating at the same time . It was a wierd feeling and kinda scary ! But I fixed it and was on my way . Always make sure that metal bracket is on there where its not interfering with the cable on the throttle body , I think the mechanic was in a hurry and didnt do that !

ok i know this response is non tech but the weirdest thing that happened was gettting pulled over for a non visible third brake light............................ITS AN 83 IT DOESNT HAVE ONE.......well that was what i said to the cop......but he didnt believe me and made me open the hatch and show him and he still doubted me......
another time i got pulled over for "changing lanes to fast"
i have a shift kit and i went to change lanes.....signalled and everything but my car hit second gear and chirped the tires....pulled over three seconds later
he let me go cause there is no set speed for a lane change
i think the cops were related......lol

One time I was at work and my car was in the parking lot with the doors locked. When I went on my dinner break I went through the McDonalds drive through and went back to eat in the office. When I was getting out of my car I saw something on my backseat. I was like WTF. It was a friggin little jesus statue. I have no Idea how or why someone put it in there but it was weird and kinda freaked me out.

Not long after I got my GTA,the horn quit working along with the dome light, the power locks and I don't remember what else. But I checked the fuse and it was blown,so every time I replaced it, it would last anywhere from an hour to a couple of days.I'm like,WTF major electrical problems?,so I drove it like this for probably a year. One day I'm vaccuming the car and notice a dime in the cigarette lighter hole, which is right next to the ashtray where I store change, the lighter is not in the hole because sometimes the cell phone charger is in there.Well the dime had little burn marks on it,probably one for every fuse it blew!Needless to say, once the dime was out the problem was gone.

The wierdest thing my car has done? I had my car sitting at a car show all day, but when it was time to go it owuldn't start. It had no spark at all, but it had everythign else. Battery was fully charged too. After locking my keys in my car and hving it towed back to my place I fought with it for hours. Then, for some reason I decided to ground the first spark plug terminal on the distributor to the engine and try starting the car. The car started right up and had no problem doing so again and again.
The scariest thing it's done is that I was slowing down to a stop sign (thank g0d) and when I got down to about 5 mph the pass side balljoint broke off of the control arm and slammed the car into the ground. No major damage was done, although there are a few stress cracks around the wheelwell on the pass side that resulted form the shock of hitting the ground. It also bent my air dam a little.

Okay, this is more like the scariest/most dangerous thing that I can remember with my car. Last week, I was changing my starter, so I jack the front end up, put the tires on my ramps, and proceed to take the wires off the starter. Well, I put the 5/8" wrench on the nut which holds on the positive battery cable to the solenoid, and turn it about 1/4 turn until the wrench touches the other terminal on the solenoid. I had put my car in Drive and pulled the E-brake so it wouldnt roll backwards, by the way. Well, the next thing I know, the car lurched forward and dam near fell off the ramps onto me. It scared the holy living dog sh*t outta me, and after somking like 3 cigarettes, I disconnected the battery and put the car in park.

the scariest thing thats happedn to me was actually a few days ago...me and my girl went to a place called floyd bennet in new york...its a closed down airfeild and the runway is about a mile long...well we went to the far and i looked at her she looked at me and laughed so it was on...i ge through 4 and at 135 i let off (a wide 90 corner was coming up)...we get down to about 110 i brake a little to bring it to 90 turn in for the corner..when we went there there were 2 bid puddles and they slipped my mind because i didnt plan on doing this....so we hit the first puddle and the force on the front end caused the rear end to step out a little...now were doin about 85 and i correct to hold onto it but its still "light" so then the second puddle gets up and theres a little raise in road in the middle of the puddle to it unloaded the *** and got it sideways i mean totally crossed up....i threw it down to 4th and floored it....i held onto for a good 3 or 4 seconds untill she came all the way around...we were at about 75 and did 2 complete 360's and another 180....we both sat there for a few seconds and both started laughing at the same time...it was scary at the time because it was unexpected but the fact that nothing happend made it awesome lol....it stalled the motor..so i fired it up and pulled away with the both of us still crackin up...
the dumbest thing ive done was when i thought my fuel pump to a crap on me..i was changin my fuel filter and i told my buddy to "key it up" and i got a gasoline shower..good thing i wear glasses...93 doesnt taste all that good
