I wanna ditch my high beam headlights..I have my reasons But I don't actually wanna lose my high beam capability. Is there a bulb available that will work? Obviously there are a ton of bulbs out there that have both..but any in the right size? Thanks

I dont think there are. Low beams are H4656's and high beams are H4651's. I'm pretty sure there arent any other dual funtion bulbs would fit in the hole. Plus it would require a different connector; a Firebird one would prolly work however....

I figured on a different connector..that I don't mind doing. If it gets involved enough of a swap that I have to mess with the headlight mounting buckets and adjusters...then it's not worth it. I'll live without high beams.

My inner headlamps are the high beams, single filament type, but the outer headlamps are twin filament, and they switch to high beam with the inner ones. I don't know if this will help you, because I'm in a different country here, but the bulb code is 472. Apparently it's a standard GM bulb, and I found them in my Oldsmobile, and my dad's Caprice.

I can ship a couple out to you if you get desperate. I'll try to get some pics of the bulb and connector e-mailed to you if you like.

Mine do the same thing. They are just the standard Sylvania replacement bulbs that I picked up from the local parts store.

yeah thats normal....but they're not really bright without the outer bulbs. Not what I'd really call high beams.

Yes.
Cant remember part numbers, been too long. When I put some illegal stuff in my dads car I'll let you know. Going to go replaceable halogen bulb style. Hella makes some nice setups that arent too terribly expensive, but more than you want to spend I know

It would be nice to put a fresh air setup where the highbeams are.

Read my post on the carb board. I made a kickass fresh air setup this way, I'll post pics tommorow, and yes the high beams still work just fine, unless you live on some way-out country road with cows every 10 ft in the pitch black, you'll be FINE. Trust me, at least on our camaro the outer ones are REALLY bright when you hit the high beams. Bright enough at least to blind other drivers

The bulbs that went in the early dodge dakotas and I think the '94-'97 S10 are the same dimensional size as our bulbs but are low and hi beam. The # is H6545

I thought the S10's were H6054's..

The old '82-'93 S-10's were H6054 but the '94-up are the H6545 unless it came with the flush mounted bulb option. I dont think many of the trucks did but the blazers had the flush mounts until they changed to the current grille with the quad lamps.
