My 88 Suburban 350 TBI keep throwing me a code 42 intermitantly. Now are the code numbers the same as my 88 IROC? If they are then this is an EST error. How would I go about fixing this? Is it the ignition module or coil. When it throws this code all my power vanishes with it. Any help would be great guys.

Car: Tree Huggers
Engine: Do Not
Transmission: Appreciate Me.
The codes are indeed the same. As for the why, well until you dig into it, the reasons can vary. Do a search using EST Code and you'll get a ton of posts. Read some for some ideas as to where to begin.

I think est has to do with the knock sensor.
