Can someone explain cams, please?
Have three cams I am looking at. The LT4 HotCam, the 350 High performance cam, and the 350 ZZZ all from SDPC. The specs look like this
HotCam: .492/.492 lift 218/228 dur @.050" Lobe sep 112*
350H.P.: .539/.558 lift 234/242 dur @.050" Lobe sep 112*
350ZZZ: .480/.480 lift 235/235 dur @.050" Lobe sep 114*
The other cam I am looking at in addition is the ZZ4, but I don't have specs on it yet. What I'm asking is what do these numbers mean, and which cam is most compatable with the iron Vortec heads(the upgrade for .570" lift done already)? I am going to use a Performer RPM intake and 750 Holley. Will these cams work with that setup, which the block is a stock 88 L98?
I searched for a bit, and my understanding is the Hotcam and the ZZZ are more streetable than the 350H.P, correct me if I'm wrong!
If it helps, the car will be driven to the track, so some degree of street ability is necessary. More questions to come I'm sure..
