Yup, that's what it is... L98 is the RPO for the engine, B2L is the package that consisted of it.

You are at the place to get that type of info. There is a massive amount of knowledgs about these cars on this site; somebody here knows the true facts about almost every detail of them. Of course there's a little BS now and them, but it's usually not too hard to sort that out and ignore it.

People will be alot more likely to read and respond to your posts if you lose the caps lock.... it's extremely rude, makes it look like you're shouting, besides being very hard to read. There is no excuse ("It's too hard to be polite", "I always do it this way", etc.) that justifies it.

Still need more help.

I know this this engine is a 350 but what else is it. I think the heads had factory work and what not, but i need to know what else differant they did to this engine. I have been told that this is a very special engine. Actually the car was very special untill my buddy wrapped it around a telephone poll. Then out of anger of recking it he gave me what ever I could get off it. Which was most of everything. Sorry about the caps but by the time I realized it was on I did not wanna retype the whole thing. Thanks for the replies that I have gotten so far. Hope to see more in the future. If you can help I will really appreciate it.

No, nothing really special.... it's just yerbasic TPI 350, at least as far as how it came from the factory. There weren't really any options on those, either they were a 350 TPI, or they weren't, that's about it. It was the best engine available in one of these cars at the time, but there's lots of them in the world, and they don't stand up to comparison with modern cars.... the auto world was just emerging from the smog / oil embargo shocks of the 70s, and GM took longer than most to get over it, so by the time they quit making those, they were already hopelessly obsolete.
