Qstn: What is the Gas price around the world?
Prices for local gasolines are:
Gas 93 : US$ 0.65 / liter (US$ 2.54 / gallon)
Gas 95: US$ 0.66 / liter (US$ 2.57 / gallon)
Gas 97: US$ 0.67 / liter (US$ 2.61 / gallon)
1 gas 93 gallon = 0.93 Mc Donalds Combo1 (BigMac + Coca + Potato's cone).
(Prices today in Chile, South America)
How is the price's condition in your country?
Regards,
Denis V.

I was in Nigeria, west Africa, a couple of months ago... it was 24 Naira per liter there at the time... Naira are 115 to the dollar more or less, so that made it about $.79 per gallon. No clue what the octane was; I don't recall it being posted. Seems like whatever it was, it was the only kind.

I visited Guadalajara Mexico a few weeks ago. The price for gas there was $2.60 a gallon. They had different octanes, that was the cheapest.

Car: 1989 TransAm GTA
Engine: One sweet modified 355 TPI.

Last time I filled up was yesterday:
87 Octane = $1.75
92 Octane ~ $1.90
I used to use the best stuff in my Escort, but after a month i hadn't seen any increase in mileage or power so I dropped back to 87 octane.
The GTA will be premium all the way. Don't care if it takes twice as much to fuel it. ^_^
Escort = 1.9L

$1.95 for 93 octane here in St.Louis MO. That's the high lately. It's usually around $1.89 for 93 octane.
The price of 104 octane hasn't gone up much tho It's still $3.40.

Perhaps we will need move from GM cars to the famous Austin Mini 1.000 during the Irak's war.
At least, it was a popular and special car for years...

Great, people. This is a nice survey, but someone needs to put a technical spin on it or it'll have to be closed. We all know the rules. So, how can we make this a "tech" question?

How can we improve gas mileage in our cars with it getting so expensive?
There's the question to be answered now.
Right now Im wishing I didnt have two carbed cars. The T/A is a project, and I could care less about the mileage, it gets crappy mileage because of my heavy foot. Of course my driver is a carbed 2.8, and it gets bad mileage right now being out of tune. I need to do some heavy work to it. Its bad enough it probably is making 75 hp right now, but it only gets like 18 mpg

You can start by NOT paying $1.77.9/gallon for 93 octane, like it is around here. $1.57.9 for 89 octane.
As for the tech part, you can maintain tire inflation and alignment, switch to synthetic oil in the rear axle, transmission, and engine, and use upper gears whenever possible. It helps to keep the engine just a little hotter, too.

If it makes you feel better in Syracuse cheap stuff is like 1.73. 93 is dangerously near 2 bucks.

O.K. The tech question could be: How we can improve the gas mileage?.
I've noted that vehicles equiped with MAF + MAP have better gas mileage than only SD (MAP) system. I'm right?.

Car: Guess

Transmission: So close to being a manual I can taste it
I have seen a high of 2.02 for 93 premium.
I pay 1.89 for 93 premium.
I know its a rip but what can I do? Buy a honda, you say; I'd rather push my Camaro than drive a Honda.
