car not running right?

hey guys, i have a 91 RS with a new 305, auto, and i think i might have a problem. my car runs great and everything but i feel like i have no bottom end power at all, like less than a civic, my mods are just 3" exhaust and flow. muffler and should my car be able to spin the tire? i have cooper cobra 245's and i cant even chirp the tires... ever which leads me to believe that my car isnt tuned right, what should i adjust or check, to fix my problem, or is there no problem

please help!!
Jeremy

just becuase you can't chirp the tires with a 305 auto doesn't mean it isn't tuned right, how does your get up and go feel when you put the pedal to the medal

off the line it feels very weak, more weak than with the 150,000 mile engine. my engine now has 1,400 miles on it, once i am actually going at about 20, it is a lot quicker. does my engine just need more break in time?

What cam is in it?

That's usually the thing that makes the biggest difference. Using a cam that provides more top-end power usually costs some low-end grunt.

You have 2.73 gears; even the slightest decrease in that low end is going to be very noticeable, because the motor spends so much of its time just off idle.

Try a looser torque converter.

Even with my 2.73 gears I was able to chirp my tires in 1st and 2nd. It also lead to the untimely demise of my 2.73 gears as they pretty much grenaded on me. I now run 3.23 gears.

There are quite a few 305 TBI's that have ***** for some reason... despite the fact GM tried cutting them off on most of them...
