VERY Rich Fuel Mixture

What's up guys...I have a 3.1L engine and my fuel mix is VERY rich. The other day I adjusted my idle since it was way too high. Ever since black smoke has been shootin' out the tail pipes on initial start-up and also when you give it alotta gas. What could be the problem and what should I check out? Thanks in advance guys.

well if your problem started after you "fixed" your car i'd un fix it and see if it goes away. you might want to scan for codes and make sure the tune up is good

Engine: A slow one & a fast one
Transmission: A bad one & a good one
Axle/Gears: A weak one & a chained one
Bad ignition or bad O2 sensor are some of the more common causes.....

Already tried to "un fix" it. I'm gonna pop in the Snap On scanner tomorrow and see if I can pull any codes. Thanks for the input. By the way, how much would a O2 sensor run me?

Bosch direct replacement, $20.

Just beware what the scanner tells you. If an O2 sensor is bad, usually the computer won't know it. It'll instead throw codes for a mixture problem...usually lean, when in reality you're running rich.
