Lifter/Rocker/Pushrod Break-In

When putting all those in, do I need to use the Comp Pro Cam Lube or whatever? Or is there just something generic that I can use? And if there is something generic, will it be better to use the Comp stuff?

If it is the 91 in your info, the roller cam won't need anything special. Soak the lifters in oil and make sure the contact points of the rockers have a bit of oil.

i use moly lube on anything like a lifter to cam or rocker to ball and lubriplate 105 on everything else. i'm out of moly now and may just start using the lubriplate on everything.

Cam lube goes on the cam lobes and the "bottom" of the lifters. Prime the engine with the correct type of primer and rotate the crankshaft during the priming operation.

This will get oil on all the valve train gear.

Then do the 2000-2500 RPM for 20 minutes to break in the cam.

That is all

PS The factory doesn't even to this. They fill it with oil and run it.
