What is this gizmo?
What is that thing that i have circled? The car was originally a 305 Crossfire. It is now a Carb'd 355 with the ECM eliminated. I am in the process of cleaning the engine bay up and was wondering if this thing has any importance. The car has no forms of emissions, other than the charcoal canister.

the speedo cable goes from the trans, to that cruise box, then a 2nd cable goes from the box to the speedo.
you'll need to get the cable ment for a non cruise control car when you take that out.

Well the only problem you may run in to is needing a new longer spedo cable. Most of them the spedo cable runs through that box. 1 from trans to the box, then from the box to the spedo.

Well, currently the speedo isnt in the car, either. Is there anyway to make it less "cluttered?" Like cleaning up some of the hoses and wires?
Or, what cars were non-cruised controlled? I take it was a f-bod option?

So something like that?

I haven't seen many 3rd gens with cruise. You may be able to find someone on this board willing to swap. If your parts work. Cruise is nice. But easiest way would be just go junk yard hunting.
Not sure how the cruise **** or lever is but that may be a neat little trick button to keep. Use the cruise switch for NOS or something.

I can check at work Monday, it is in their PSA (Parts Supplies Accessories) catalog.
P.S. I don't work for NAPA, I just remember seeing it in their catalog.

Part # from NAPA 715-1314. One end is 7/8" x 18 & other end is 5/8" x 18, internal square is .107" it is to eliminate cruise transducer. This should do it.
