how many people have bought engines from junkyard and what did you pay?

how many people have bought engines from junkyard and what did you pay?

thinking of attempting first engine stand buildup, need some reasonable prices for junkyard 350's, as always thanks for any advice.

Rebuilt engine and transplanted it myself.

Love this engine!

well i called a few junkyards today, and the best price i got was $550! where do you find these engines for $150? let me know i want ten of them.

I paid 250$ for a complete builder 350 4 bolt. You want to tell them that you want a builder! Something that doesent run but will still turn over IE no holes in the block or pan.

Look in the classifieds too. You can find runnning 350's for $100-$250, and they are usually pulled for you.

$550 includes delivery and guarantee that its in good running order, some places actually wanted more for a 305 (my guess TPI versions)* please read post in engine swap *

I was quoted $250 for a rebuildable 4-bolt, roller cam, delivered into the back of my truck. It would come with the entire engine, all the TB stuff (because it came out of a truck). The good thing about getting a block from a junkyard is that they have to stand behind what they sell you. So if it's cracked or something, they'll exchange it for another one.

I just paid $450 for a 350 4-bolt out of a 1994 3/4 ton truck. The junk yard drove the truck into their shop and pulled the motor while I waited.
