Cruise Control Problems

My cruise didn't work on my trip this weekend. I have checked the switch, that checks out OK. The connector that attaches to the cruise servo shows that there is power going into it. How can I test the servo and "diaphram" part of it? What else could be my problem?

The only symptoms I've had have been that initially it would wander from about 68-72 while set at 70, then it began stumbling and searching more while set on cruise, and now I get absolutely no response when I set the cruise control.

That does sound wierd...what was the explanation for that?

I tried another servo for now, we'll see what that does. If nothing else I can drive to school with my foot actually on the pedal.

The only thing that I can think of is that the coil was trying to go out.It did go out.The car rpm's where going up and down and not enough juice was going to everything.Thats the only thing I can think of.The cruise was workig fine till the fuel pump went out.

Have you looked at the cruise control switch mounted on the brake pedal and also the cruise control relay mounted behind the dash on the passenger side of the car?

I checked those first, turns out a new servo vacuum thing solved the problem

yeah man, im having the same problem ever since i put the heads back on my car and installed the hsr. im thinking something's wrong with the vacuum but im not sure where to look since i have no idea where anything for the cruise control is. never really had a problem with it before... so i never cared to learn about the cc. anyone know where i should look to see if there's anything wrong with the vacuum for the cc or anything that might help me get it working? sorry if im hijackin' your thread... i just dont see the point of making a new one up and cluttering up the board

No big deal I'm not very knowledgeable with CC, but first you should check the switch to see if that is in proper working order still. There's a tech article for this. Then there is also a "computer box?" in the passenger side near the computer for the whole car. Other than that, on my car the rest of the CC stuff was in the front passenger side of the engine bay, right up by the headlights.
