mr gasket #26 spring

I just installed one of these in a melling m55 pump. I've never replaced the regular spring before but noticed the #26 was not wound out larger on one end like the stocker. Is this normal? It does'nt look like it can get by the pin but I just want to make sure I did'nt get a deffective or poorly wound spring.

yeah they all look like that. it isn't hard to get in or to get the pin back in place.
