any quick way to remove valve covers?

about 2-3 weeks ago i swapped in a new cam, and had my heads ported and polished. well once everythihng was done i drove the car down to Florida (from ohio). on the way i noticed i had an oil leak. im leaking oil from the valve covers. when i put it back together i used felpro cork gaskets without rtv. on the way i had to add 2 quarts. then before i left i added another 2 quarts. after the whole trip i got home ive let it sit for a while. while i was there i picked up some of the rubber valve cover gaskets with the steel in them. well i started reading the book and it said i had to remove the plenum and fuel rail to replace them. but i remembered when i originally put them in i had all that in place. if i remember correctly i didnt have the a/c or alternator on when i put them in originally and i could slide them inplace. i was wondering if either i could a) reuse the old plenum and runner gaskets or if i could b) remove the alternator and a/c compressor and put them in that way again. im asking mainly because i dont have the funds to but all new gaskets and o-rings for the fuelrail. or is there an easier way to do it? i have the perimiter style valve covers.

Valve covers are held in by a few bolts. Its like an hour swap tops. Keep your plenum on there.

Car Craft showed some new valve cover hold down tabs a few issues back. They actually loked into place. It was a lever that would bolt down and you would just push the lever down and it would seal.
