How do i siphon gas out of my tank?

I have stuck a 10 ft piece of hose down the tank and its not even touching the gas. Whats going on? is there a trick to this. It feels like I'm hitting a spring or something.

Welcome to GM's anti theft system. It's almost impossible to siphon gas from a GM tank now.

Wiggle it in and out while rotating it. You'll drive her nuts. I mean, you'll dip it in eventually. Helps if it's slightly curved (should already be curved to the left, right?).

If you get sick if doing that, you could go under the car and unhook the filter and stick the tube onto the fuel line, then run 12 volts to the pump (you can do that at the ALDL connector).

just go to the parts store and get a tank siphon pump, there like 10$ and work great!

Well here's something that's kind of cool; GM's hung the fuel sending unit right in front of the filler neck opening! Yep, that's what you're hitting with the hose. I assume it was put there to wash down the fuel sending unit.

Are you replacing the electric fuel pump? If so, the thing might have enough "kick" to drain the tank for you. Unhook the fuel filter, and lead a hose from the feed line to a gas can. Put the key to "on" (so you can watch the gas gauge). Apply +12 to the fuel pump "test connector", which will energize the pump. Remove the +12 when your gas gauge shows empty. Oh- do this outside, and don't smoke, or drop any wrenches, or play with explosives near the gas. Okay?

Well There was half a tank and we couldnt get it out so me and my dad got under there and got it out. It was SO easy getting it out. Why does everybody complain about bending the neck? We rolled it forward while gently pulling out and wham dropped right out. Very Easy Thanks for the suggs guys
