Fuel stopping while driving
This just started yesterday and only continues to grow worse...
I'll be driving around town, maintaining a constant speed, and suddenly it'll feel like the fuel has been cut off. The car doesn't do anything for anywhere from three to thirty seconds, then it'll pick back up. After a few times of doing this during a single driving period, Service Engine Soon will light up. This happened on my way home from work, so I stopped at Checker Auto and had the code read. They gave me a 34, but their code book doesn't say anything about Camaro. I looked it up on TGO, and it corresponds to a bad MAF/MAP sensor. No one has a MAP sensor for this car, so I'm assuming it isn't there to begin with. The MAF sensor is $80, and could quite possibly be a cause here, as it got flooded with oil several weeks ago due to a drastic overfilling(12 quarts!!! ).
Checker told me to take it home, clear the engine code, and go for a drive to see if the issue persisted. It went fine for about an hour and a half worth of driving, until i was making a turn and the engine just flat out stalled. Put it in park, fire her up and I was good to go.
On the way back home, it was fine, until I made another turn from the freeway(10 miles of freeway driving and no issues) onto surface streets, when it stalled again. SES had lit up. Fired it back up, and went straight for AutoZone. Guy came out, attempted to read the code...and there was nothing. No code stored at all. His opinion on the problem was a few things: 1) Car makers sometime hardcode a odometer reading that when the car reaches it, SES lights up, signalling you to take it to a dealership for a tune-up. 2) Fuel pump is getting hot and shutting off. 3) Fuel injectors are having issues.
Bewildered, I left AutoZone....not even a quarter mile down the road, after a light turning green, I hit the gas and the engine stalls. Put it in park, start it, put it in drive and it stalls. This repeats FOUR times. No other problems the other three miles back to the house.
TGO, what do you think? I can hear my baby crying and it's hurts!

MAF 4 life
Hardcoded odometer setting?
EDIT: BTW, if you want to test this, try to drive with the MAF unplugged. It wont drive great, but if your problem doesn't happen, then its your MAF for sure. If it does happen, then its not the MAF.
