Who carries an EGR Vacuum Solenoid 4 TPI?

I am sooooo frustrated right now. I need a EGR solenoid for my 88 5.0 GTA. I have called and checked everyone's websites. Napa, Advance, Autozone, Oreilly, Pep Boys, and even Year One. Called my local Pontiac dealer which has a nationwide database. Discontinued. I got the dreaded code 32 and the car is running like crap. I already have an EGR valve on order which I am going to pick up after work. If I have to take the plenum off to replace this thing I am going to replace both of them while Im in there so I know I won't have to deal with it again. Does anyone know who might have one???

Surprising they're so hard to find, but I'll take your word for it.

Junkyard. Those things rarely go bad. GM used the same basic solenoid on zillions of cars.

I actually just got off the phone with a guy at an Oreilly in the old town I lived at in South Carolina and he said they were showing one (1)! in Mississippi. He ordered it and said he would call me when it came in and I could have one of my parents go get it and ship it up to me. Im not sure if its even bad or not. I know the EGR is, so like I said, If I have to go through all the trouble to remove the plenum to get to the EGR Im replacing everything associated with it while Im in there. Im not doing this twice.

Hold on... TPI? The solenoid for the EGR is outside the plenum area. It's over to the pass. side of the engine, towards the rear last time I checked. Has 2 vacuum hard lines going to it that are molded into a single vacuum connector that plugs on the solenoid (at least the last 88 I woked on was like this). One of the hard lines ends up at a vacuum port on the TB, the other goes down under the plenum to the EGR valve.

EGR

Hi...I have an 85 Iroc (305)TPI, This is what happened to me. When I would drive the car around 65mph for like 8 or 10 miles, the "Check Engine" light was coming on, staying on...(light never came on if I stayed under that speed, or no matter low long I would drive it under 65mph), the performance of the car was fine, never ran any differently, other than that darn light staying on when I would look down on my dash. I took it to the Chevy dealership, they pulled a code 32, and my selonoid on my EGR was bad. They had to "order" me the part. Seemed fairly easy to get that part to me. I don't know if the Chevy and Pontiac run the same selonoid on the 305, TPI's?

Yeah, they are all the same. For some reason either everyone has discontinued it or there is that much of a demand on them. I'll be happy when mine actually shows up at my doorstep. Funny how you stress over some stupid little car part.

I never had one go bad ...just gets stuck. I clean them with carb cleaner and it works again. Spray it, shake it, blow it with air and test it with 12 volts.
Here is the Borg Warner part #EGR 216 if needed.

Yeah, it's no biggie to get one from any carparts store. They all carry them. They were probably too lazy to look it up or order it for you. I guess you need to force them a little to do it.

Strange, my car uses EVS29 and that one costs $35. The EVS21 costs half. They look identical, except for the bracket. Anybody know if they are interchangeable (as for their function)?
