305 top end kit
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&view=1&N=700+
Ok so i know doing anything to a 305 is moronic but im hopin someday this kit will transfer over to the 400 block ive got layin around. Just not enough money to finish it the right way right now.
So my basic questions are am I going to run into any geometry issues with those big valves in my 305 and also the cam (to much lift)? Are the 195cc intake runners gonna be too much? Anything else anyone sees that could be a problem lemme kno.
By my calculations I should be able to stay in the low 9's for compression but i dunno for sure what the specs are for the dish on my LO3 pistons, im thinkin its 5cc so anyone who knows for sure on that lemme kno.
Im not plannin on 445 hp like the kit says just somethin so i can have a little more fun right now, and that will work decent on the 400 later. Thanks in advance for the advice. BTW im goin carb.

Forget about those heads. The 2.02 valves will not fit into a 305's bore.

The 305 S/R Torquers have 1.94/1.50 valves. Maybe 2.02's would fit.. I think you'd have to prove it to yourself.

Re: 305 top end kit
after doing a little more research im findin that if you start gettin in2 .600+ lift you run into clearance issues. anything less than that is ok but the 1.94's flow better because on the 2.02's nothing flows out of cylinder wall side of the valve because its so close making it only about 75% useful.
My goal is to find a somewhat happy median between stuff that will work on my 305 and my 400 someday, with more emphasis on working better with the 400, because pretty much anything besides what is on top of my 305 now will give me more power.
Im really just needing to know if the 195cc intake ports are gonna cause problems on the 305, and what all the internals of the 305 spec. out at. ie: piston dish, compression distance, stock gasket thickness etc.
