AC/ heating issue

not sure if this is right for the engine section. i know theres a cooling section but this is a mixture of an AC/Heating issue.

I have great heating when i select it and great cold AC when i want it as well

but...

with the selector to off i still feel either cold or warm air coming from the vents or windshield defroster vent area.

its very little and faint but its there. and the cold and heat all depends where the selector is on blue or red.

is this normal for these old cars to not be perfect in that area to me its seems the vents aren't closed internally fully and letting air in

and also i noticed my ac compressor is clicking on and off even if i have the heat on and im tlaking about the part of the ac system that is part of the serpentine belt setup infront of the engine.

that seems wrong completely to me

anyne have this problem

its not a big deal to me i can still select and get hot or cold whenever i want but when i dont want it and teh windows r shut it eventually builds up and i feel it

anyone?
