Possible Bad Oil Pressure Gauge???
Hows it going? Ever since I bought my '89 GTA last year, The oil pressure gauge needle pegs all the way the right when I put the key in the 'on' position as well as when its fired up. I had an engine rebuild a while back and the OPS was replaced with a brand new one so I don't think thats the cause. Looks like its a bad gauge then huh? Thanks in advance for any info.

Easy fix is to procure and install the proper sending unit.
A bad gauge usually just doesn't operate at all.

I agree with Pete.
My gauge has been pegging the 60psi mark ..well since forever!
Ive yet to make the problem a priority, but it bothers me.. If the gauge
floats up to the peg line soon as you power the car (like my car) chances
are it is not the gauge like Pete said.
The connection has a ground issue or interference.
Ill get mine fixed eventually......

Re: Possible Bad Oil Pressure Gauge???
If the problem started immediately after the sending unit was replaced, then that is the problem. The replacement sending unit was intended for the idiot light, not the gauge. It's simply grounding out and causing the gauge to read full scale.
