Severe budget build see inside

I'm building a 30/70 street/strip duty car and here what I have to work with.

I've got a freshly machined std bore 350 ready to assemble that will be mostly a bracket car and I'm on a limited budget. I will be using some 305 416 casting heads with some minor port work and get around 10.3:1 compression. I want the engine to reach 5200-5500 rpm so I'm going with a bracket master camshaft 280 duration with 500 lift, and good springs. The rest of the setup will use a power glide transmission and 3:73 gears that's already in the car.

If i don't use a set of 416 castings I was going to buy some 305 heads from PAW Performance with 1.94/1.6 valves and good springs for $349 a set.

Lastly what intake is the best to use for the power band. I was thinking Weiand Stealth, Edelbrock RPM for dual planes or Weiand Excelerator or old Edelbrock Torker. Please advise. Any guestimates on hp/tq. I was hoping to achieve 350hp but maybe I'm being optimistic.

Avoid the torker, I'd go with the perf. rpm. I'd also try to find something other than a PG, a th350 would be much better for that setup.

May add a light hit of the sauce 75-100 hp after the engine has some miles on it. The only reason for asking about the single plane's.

wow...I'm doing a very VERY close setup as well. I got tired of building $5k 355s and 383s, so i rebuilt a 350 shortblock standard bore, and with ported stock heads and a custom camshaft.
the powerglide with the 3.73's is gonna need some serious converter in my opinion. maybe at least 4k because youre gonna launch like in 2nd gear.
performer rpm air gap with a spacer would work, im using a weind stealth that litrally is sitting there, with a 1" spacer, then im gonna swap a victor jr to test if theres a difference.
if you want, pm me and we can chat about the build.

Sent you PM. I'm going to look at a set of 059 Vortec's this weekend as well. Hoping to pick them up for a Benjamin.

If you're running on the street in the RPM range you mentioned, it's dual plane intake all the way. I'm visiting an account next week and one of the engine build tech's runs an 84' Monte Carlo with several different 350 engine set up's. He's currently running mid 10's all day long on a 100 shot. Last time we spoke, he was putting together an N/A set up using some crazy 295 dur @.050 cam set up. I'll try and get his contact info.
