Serpentine vs v-belt

I'm still running the factory serpentine setup, with smog pump removed. I don't ever have any cooling issues.

I would like to minimize the system to make more room and less weight on the front but its not a big concern.

Is there any power advantage of ditching it and using a v-belt? Still running power steering, water pump, alternator, but the alternator has been relocated to the bottom, so its pretty close to the other pulleys.

Maybe a better option would be to keep a serpentine belt, but eliminate the whole passenger side accessory mount, and use the alternator to tension?

Re: Serpentine vs v-belt

well i know someone modified it so he had a serp set-up and it was just power steering, alt, and water pump.

What i did was cut my pass side bracket to eliminate the smog pump also i am running the a/c delete pully
