I recently installed the EZ efi system from fast on my 383 with first fuel intake. I also went with an msd 6al ignition box and ss coil. The EZ fuel system replaced the stock ecu. After installing the system the car ran great for the first couple of days and then began randomly shutting off while driving. Every time it happens i can restart the car with no problem, but it shuts off again intermittently without warning. I've checked all the wiring and i'm not getting any error codes for any sensors. I replaced the MSD box as well as the coil. I forgot to mention that i also installed a new distributor with the system as well. The problem persists and i'm stumped. I also replaced the fuel pump and i have a steady pressure reading on my gauge. I sent the ECU back to FAST so they can check it and i'm still waiting to hear from them. On the phone i spoke to 2 techs and they kept saying that it was probably a ground problem somewhere in the wiring. I've repeatedly checked for days and can't find any problem there. Any ideas on what else it could be? I'm hoping it's just a bad ECU, but i don't know. If they tell me the ECU is o.k., then the only other thing i have'nt changed are the distributor and wiring harness itself. I've gone through the harness several times and can't see anything wrong. When the car runs it runs perfect, no stumbling or stalling whatsoever. Any body have a similar problem?

wouldn't you know i have the EXACT same problem? granted i have a stock 3.1 liter engine but exact problem. I was actually hoping that the ignition coil was the problem. after reading your post i guess not. unfortunately no one has been much help to me on this topic either. someone suggested the power steering causing too much load and killing my engine. idk. i was also told the same thing as you about the wiring. i also didn't find a problem. good luck and please post back if you find out the problem

My 91 does the same thing. I have replaced everything from the fuel pump, sending unit, to the distributor, and injectors. Happens more often when cold outside, but sometimes shuts down when its above 50 out. check that supid plastic vent valve on the line coming from the tank. I have a feeling that mine is somehow losing its prime, but im not chasing it anymore. New 350 is almost done. You may also want to check the oil pressure switch. kinda crazy how its fires right up every single time isnt it? When it goes dead its like someone turned the key.
