Car: 87 z28 stock
Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
torque converter locking at the wrong time.
for some reason my TC is locking up in low speeds in the wrong gears. if i unplug the 4 pin plug from the trans it wont do this but then im not getting tc lock up when i should. any ideas?

you might have a short on the control wire back to the computer operating the lockup
If the control wire gets grounded the lockup will operate
Put a DVM on the tan / blk wire at the trans plug and see if it goes to ground ,
shake wire while you are doing it , may be a intermittent ground somewhere

that does seem most likley. ill check it for shorting. the PO had it disconnected, i hooked it bakc up and found out why he disconnected it. i really dislike the PO of my car at this point.
