Car: "87" Z-28
Engine: 305
starts in morning 3 or 4 starts then won't till morning
87 camaro - starts in morning, I was getting 4 or 6 starts (now 2 times)then it leaves me stranded. Won't start till morning. New carb, battery, and starter.
I've talked to guys got them all stumped. runs great when it starts LOL...
Please help (guess i'm losing weight walking home lol)

When it doesn't start what exactly does it do?
What are the indications?
Does the starter spin the engine over but no cylinders firing?
Does starter do nothing? Is there a click or clicks?
Does starter turn but very slowly?

maybe fuel pump i always thought they went out in 2 ways either they went out or started leaking(mechanical) until this happened to me
car would start and run fine for awhile and then dieand not start until the next day(or until it sat a few hours always waited til next day) what was happening is after it sat it would build back up the psi it needed and after it ran awhile would lose it and not start back til pressure built back up
i'd check into that

problem with your theory is fuel pumps don't build up pressure by sitting over night.

Thanks for replying... It fires right up in morning and runs great, after a couple of starts, it won't start till next morning. Acts like it wants to start, then smells like it's flooded without pushing gas pedal. New carb nov 2011, battery feb 2012, starter replaced last thursday (started to make starter noise so I replaced -11 yrs. old) Fired up 5 times in garage afterwards, drove to store, wouldn't start till morning, then started just fine, Sooo those were not the problem Maybe LOL.. I'am now checking for loose ground, bad wires. Wire getting hot??? Soooooooo stumped

Take the ignition module out of the distributor and get it checked. They start failing when they heat up and sometimes will work after cooling off

how about next time it doesn't start , try dumping a little gas in the carb to see if it is a fuel problem.
