i dnt kno much history on the car i can tell there are alot of junkyard parts on it, my exhaust manifolds included, i think som1 ripped the smog stuff out and the prev owner went nuts replacing things trying to get it to pass. my cat looks new. no rust on any of my exhaust,no holes/leaks. i did a tune up but the plugs, can,n rotor i took out were almost brand new

everything is there, all stock and its all there, i messed with my ignition timing alil and brought my HC down to 2.01 but my nitrogen levels rose to 3.48 the standards for HC is 1.40 not 1.60 and the standards for NOx are 3.00 im getting closer but not enough . would adding another cat just for emissions do the trick then hack it off when i get home??

put the timing back to stock, and premium fuel when you get it tested mixed with some methyl hydrate, it should pass. I ran a mix of 1/16th of a tank of fuel approx. with 3/4ths of a jug of methyl hydrate and passed and this was with a car with readings higher than yours i'd imagine. Then run the tank down till its almost dry to get all the methyl hydrate out (its an alcohol and could eat away seals if left in the gas tank and run through the motor for a prolonged period of time.) Then fill up the tank with fuel again, and you should be good to go. You won't hurt anything in the car if you run the methyl/gasoline mix for a very short amount of time, ie. put the mix in, get it tested, drive it around till the tank is almost dry and then fill it up again.

I've never had any problems with injectors going bad when I've done this. First and foremost replace the cat, and make sure the ECM isn't throwing any codes, make sure the timing is stock, and use premium fuel when you get the car tested again. If when you put everything back to stock, the car still doesn't want to pass, then I'd use the methyl hydrate/gasoline mix I was telling you about. It won't hurt anything if used for a short amount of time in my opinion. You'd have to run it for an extended amount of time to potentially hurt anything.
