i dont think she'll make it....
i parked my fbomb about 2-3 weeks ago after driving it during a dry week this winter. my brother (another member of TGO) can verify it idled normally, ran strong, and had good oil pressure. two days ago i went to check it, checked oil first,(all good) then started my engine. i was underhood for 15-20 sec when i began to notice a slight scraping sound. i looked in the car op was below 0, i barely tapped the gas and it did not move. thinking o.p.s.u. i turned it off and turned key to acc. watched the gauge move when the elec hit it. still thought it might be the sending unit. brought my brother over and started it for him, and the scrape turned into a full blown tick from the engine. i shut it off havnt touched it. was going to replace my oil pump, but the srape turned tick makes me think my bearings are shot. my question is WHY my oil pump went bad in two weeks of sitting? and do you think my bearings are shot after 30-40 sec of cold idle (1100ish rpm) probably w/o oil?
ps. i think the scrape turned tick was the last of the oil being wiped off the bearings

if you dont have any oil pressure, chances are the pickup fell off. if you gotta go that far in the engine, may as well have a look at the bearings.
are you sure you dont have pressure? could be the gauge or sending unit?

Change the oil filter and see if the pressure comes back. I have had that happen that the oil filter collapses and oil pressure is very low. Once changed it came back. Might be worth a shot before you open the motor up.

I wouldn't run it again. Could mean the difference between polishing the crank and replacing bearings, or turning the crank, line boring the mains, and reconditioning your rods... It's obvious damage has occurred.

Denial won't help you at this point. Tear it down

You can pull a valve-cover and start the engine briefly to verify if there is oil pressure or not.
If you have lost all pressure, then the sounds you hear are probably a result of the hydraulic lifters collapsing and creating slop in the valvetrain.
It is unlikely you would spin a bearing by just idling it a short time.
If your engine is fuel injected, then there is supposed to be a fuel-pump kill function when there is no oil pressure registered.

The ECM will still command the fuel pump to run. I'm not quite sure what the functionality of that switch is, but it's redundant to the the ECM signal to the fuel pump, not wired in series.
