Re: Headers

I have the "Elite" version of these and they fit very nicely and don't rattle against anything. You will want to also purchase the companion Hedman Y-pipe as the headers will not fitup to the stock Y-pipe. Hedman has much better Y-pipe design with smooth mandrel bent curves.

The hardest part about installing them will be removing the old rusted exhaust bolts. You will also have to remove the driver side motor mount connection bolt and jack the engine up slightly to get the header past the steering column shaft. This is pretty easy, but remember to remove the distributer cap so it doesn't come into contact with the firewall when the engine moves up.

Phew.... that drivers side motor mount was a pain in the *** to get on there, Maybe I can just loosen the bolts on the engine part, and jack it up a little? Thanks for the reply, and luckily the exhaust bolts are off, it's not the stock engine, just an 86 350 out of a chevy custom deluxe

Re: Headers

Don't unbolt the mounts, just take the cross bolt out.

Re: Headers

I was having an issue with the cross bolt lining up, so I had to loosen the mount from the engine, to get it to set right, and retorque them, is what I meant.
