tranny help
so I got in my car today to take it out of the garage...
swap the car from Park to Reverse...and it did nothing. almost like it was in neutral.
I tried to get it into reverse but it wouldnt budge. tried Drive and it kinda..glided into drive instead of clicking in. I then went from Drive to Reverse and again it didn't click. . just kinda forced the shifter upwards. I think it may be the shifting cable that went bad?? Any advice? Thanks!

Re: tranny help
Wiggle the shifter around and see if it goes into gear. It seems like every single one of these cars that I've owned have that issue. Otherwise the cable probably stretched, verify by going under the car and manually moving the gear selector (with vehicle off obviously).

Re: tranny help
First go under your car, believe right side of the trans. You will see a bracket about half way back just above the oil pan with a black cable going to it. That's the cable that engages the gears and that bracket moves. Push it and see if it shifts gears.
