Mystery cam or Comp Cams Xe249h

Mystery cam or Comp Cams Xe249h
I am starting a budget TPI swap on my 70 nova with a L48 350. The aftermarket cam currently in the 350 was installed back in the 80's and is an unknown grind. The cam is not radical but did have a noticeable chop at idle with the carb setup.
I have concerns that the stock 730 computer won't like the cam, and that the cam will be a mismatch for the stock TPI. However, I am willing to get chips burned to get the right tune but this might become very frustrating.
My second option is to install a low mile Comp cam Xe249h that cam with the TPI swap parts. I know this cam will work with the stock computer and puts the cam in the power band of the stock TPI.
Opinions? Remember this in a 8.5:1 compression 350 not an L98. My car is used as a HotRod with occasional bracket racing (I drive to and from the track 45 miles each way).

The 249 should probably be manageable.
The other, who knows.
Probably best to stick with what you at least know what it is.

Pull the cam out - there should be numbers on the end - from there you can make an informed decision. Guessing if you're going from a carb to EFI then the cam that was in there is probably designed to work with carbs (tight LSA, etc.) vs an EFI setup.

I like the 249 anyway, for an 8.5:1 350. Get some new lifters, and a new timing set, add some ZDDP and enjoy a matched combo.
