Thanks for the heads up though, I best test it before installing it.

I want to install a little fuel pressure gauge on my fuel rail for giggles, plus I can see the actually pressure when mine stalls out to see what going on. I borrowed a fuel pressure gauge from my local AutoZone but it didn't work

Re: Getting ready to upgrade tbi fuel pump to TPI fuel pump; what else is needed?
When I did mine I knew I only wanted to drop the tank one time, so I replaced pretty much everything:
Fuel pump ACDELCO EP241
Fuel filter ACDELCO GF652
Fuel pump sock BOSCH 68006
Fuel tank DORMAN 576183
Fuel sending unit DORMAN 692137
The filler neck on that Dorman tank does not fit well. I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone, but there aren't many options really if you are in the market for a new OEM style tank. My old tank was leaking at the filler neck joint so I had to take care of that and I'd imagine that all of these imported repro tanks fit the same way (badly).
Also the piece of rubber fuel line that comes out of the sender and connects to the sending side of the fuel hard lines was in pretty bad shape. The fittings were badly rusted and the hose had tiny cracks starting to form in the rubber. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere for that, so I ended up making a custom AN hose with some AN adapters.

per the part number on the box... only Google matches I could find were links to Spanish websites that listed this part for TBI applications.... There was one site, IIRC that stated he used this pump for TBI apps.

PS...not holding out for too much, my AC Delco part is "Made in China".

Re: Getting ready to upgrade tbi fuel pump to TPI fuel pump; what else is needed?
I hooked the pump up to my sending unit assy and dead headed quickly it to around 80 PSI a few times, I didn't run it through a return line though, didn't want fuel going every where.
I need a new sending unit before I can re install the tank and get it running, but should be fine.
Edit:
I might add that when the new ending unit get's here, I'm going cut and double flare the lines and put in an access panel, I'm getting to old to spend this much time to replace a pump, had I known I needed a new sending unit, I'd have done this in the first place

Re: Getting ready to upgrade tbi fuel pump to TPI fuel pump; what else is needed?
Just for giggles, researching slightly stronger pumps in case my fuel demands where to increase @ some point in the future, I called Aeromotive. I spoke with their tech staff and I was delighted that I did. I inquired about the 340lph pumps they offer as a possible stock replacement. They expressed that their pump for this application and stock fuel lines would be overkill, and rather shorten the life of the pump. The minimum feed and return sizes for the fuel lines should be at least 3/8". If the return is no large enough, it would actually cause the pump to overheat and fail prematurely. Also, that pump would surely overpower the stock fuel pressure regulator.
So..... I'm glad I called them :-)

For sure, heck, in the day a Walboro 255l pump was what was used..lol...but this engine of mine will never need it, just going to be intake (Accell base and runners) and a set of SLP's 1-3/4's I've had for years...just getting it back on the road for my kid...I have a set of AFR's tucked away somewhere, when I think she can handle it, those and a cam will be next...right now it isn't happening

Re: Getting ready to upgrade tbi fuel pump to TPI fuel pump; what else is needed?
Due to other projects, the car sat until I went to fire it up...nothing...no fuel pressure-usual checks/etc..lead me back to the pump.
Rolled the car over the pit, pulled the harness jumped to 12v....nothing from the pump.
Effer sat for a month and died.
Suggest ya'll stay away from the Ebay AC/Delco pumps.
Walbro on it's way from Summit.
Edit:
BTW...knowing (I thought) the pump was good, and figuring the original pump lasted so long, I never did cut an access panel...regretting it now...
