Black braided hose

Hi

This is time to wake up my 1983 Recaro T/A, after 10 very difficult years of many changes.

I ordered emergency parts on Rockauto : belts, hoses, oil filters, transmission filters, windshield wipers. That will help.

But I need some other hoses. This CFI 305ci has been converted to Edelbrock carb through a real LT-1 1970 intake. And fuel hoses are shot.

So I'd like to go with black braided hoses.

This is what I found : http://www.proflow.com.au/Catalog/502497

But the question is : how can I convert my stock radiator and Edelbrock carb to braided hoses ? What's the way to adapt fittings ?

Remember I live in Europe. We don't know much about F-Babies.

THX.

Sleeping for too long !

Don't laugh at the V5 Golf. She gave the power to inflate tires.

Re: Black braided hose

Easiest way is to just use OEM parts.

As for the black braided hose, there's a cheap way to secure them. You can buy what looks like custom AN fittings but they're just cheap imitations that cover hose clamps.

Stuff like these. Simple google search to find product

They're available in many different colors and sizes.

Well

Thank you, but I prefer the real thing.

If I can't get it, I will stick with rubber.

Re: Black braided hose

You just need to buy the right fittings to go into your carb and then make the AN hose with the AN hose ends. I dont know what the thread size is but you should be able to figure that out and buy an AN fitting adapters. There are thousands of AN fittings of all thread sizes, shapes and colors out there. Some of the brands I use.

Re: Black braided hose

I would recommend against any braided hose that has rubber in it, for fuel. The rubber is permeable by fuel, especially if it has alcohol in it (don't know if that's the case in southern France but I suspect it is), and your car will always smell like fuel. If you park it indoors, the room will reek of it.

Use the kind that has Teflon instead of rubber. https://www.summitracing.com/search/...rder=Ascending I have no idea whether any is available in black; however, you can just put some of that split-loom wiring stuff over it to make it look like something the factory would have done, if that's your overall intent. This type of stuff. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/kti-02751

You'll probably want #6 AN size line and fittings. You can search the Summit & Jeg's sites, and others as well no doubt, to find the adapter you'll need for your carb. I can't begin to guess what you'll need at the other end of the fuel line, as that will depend on what you did to convert from the high pressure fuel-injection pump to the lower pressure that a carb requires.
