Oil pressure switch problems....
I feel like an idiot for even having this issue but here goes. Decided to change my oil sending unit (leaking) on my 1992 5.0 RS today. Old unit (I’ve replaced once before ) came out easily no problem. After 10 minutes of trying to get the new one in with no luck I can no longer get the old one in either. It goes about1/4 turn in and gets stuck. I’ve tried using a pick tool to clean any debris but I’m having absolutely no luck getting this thing in. The threads don’t really look bad on the old one either. I don’t think there’s enough room to get a drill or anything in with the motor installed.
So before I mess around and break anything and have to get this thing towed does anyone have any advice on this one. I don’t understand how these iron threads could have warped if this thing came out so easily. I don’t think I can even get a thread chaser to start in this thing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I’m a complete idiot. After glancing at pics online and my girlfriends RS I realized I was trying to get it in the wrong hole 🤦🏽♂️, glad I caught it before I F’ed the new sensor up. I forgot the sensor in the garage when I pulled the old one out. When I rolled back under there to install it I immediately went for the threaded hole just above it.
I’ve owned this car for almost 17 years and I never noticed there are two other threaded holes just above the oil filter. My apologies for starting a pointless thread, but really appreciate the fast replies guys.

Glad you got it figured out though.
