84 trans am L69 vs. 94 lumina who would win
#3
r u stick or automatic? I am stick with the same engine and my buddy has a 94 lumina and I toyed at half throttle with him then once he got to about 85 I slowed down and let him pass me then I mashed it and blew his doors off. If you know how to drive ur car and his is stock you should blow hs doors off, but theres only one way to find out.

the l69 has got it, auto or manual, luminas are heavy and not meant to perform, especially in excess of like 70 or 80mph

Car: 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham 2dr Coupe
Engine: 403 Olds v8, bored .030 over
Transmission: 350 T.H. 3A, shift kit
hmmmmm.....
Weren't the earlier Luminas faster? And an L69 is a 350, right? If so, I agree, with the popular opinion with no doubt.

If the Lumina has the standard 3100 V-6, you'll win for sure. If it has the 3800 Series II V-6 used in the LTZ, I recommend you don't get cocky. But you'll probably still win, regardless of which transmission you have.
vehicle weight = ~3400 pounds
3100 output = 160 hp@5200 rpm; 185 ft.lbs.@4000 rpm
3800 output = 200 hp@5200 rpm; 225 ft.lbs.@4000 rpm
Have fun.
PS - Abel, the L69 is a high output 305.

Car: 1991 Formula
Engine: 350 firebreathing inches of Small Block Chevrolet
Transmission: A 700R4 that has trouble handling the formentioned 350.
We never found out what kind of tranny did we. But anyways the 190hp rating is more than enough if the power is transfered though a T-5 to a set of 3.73 gears (Both stock for a L69 engine and a T-5). I don't think you would even have to worry if the lumina was a 3.8 as long as your car is in good running order.
You should Wax Him!!
Freak406 (IF you really want to beat him, and about everything else, spend about $2500 on a 406 and bolt that baby right in. That's what I did with my L69 Z, ran 13.6 w/ slicks, 14.2 street)

ok... this will sound strange to you guys but dont take some lumina's so lightly. my brother-in-law has about a 92¿ 3.1L i think..... for a while that thing was runnin hella rich and OMG that thing was fast as fu(k....... no trouble spinnin em whenever he wanted and could get traction and had quick pickup, but most likely u will win.
