Ford ThunderBird Question??
Ive seen a 95'ish Thunderbird around with special "Nascar Edition" decals and dual chrome tips. It was doing a burnout in a parking lot.
Does anyone know any stats on this car? Are the decals real?
And would it dismantle an LG4 with headers+exhaust?

Hmmm, I've seen one or 2 of them in the autotraders but I'm not sure if they got the 3.8 or the 4.6. The 4.6 would give you a run since you both have high 15 second low 16 second cars

I don't know about a Nascar edition. However my girlfriend has a 1995 4.6L Cougar XR-7 which is the same thing as the Thunderbird.
I have driven that car a couple of times. I can tell you for a fact that as long as you have the HO 305 or better on any Firebird or Camaro you will smoke em. The Cougars and Thunderbirds are heavy. They are slow to accelerate and have crap gears.
They have enough get up and go to be a decent daily driven car. But they have that Crown Vic/Caprice Classic heavy car feel. They have enough off the line to be a pleasant vehicle to drive. They just don't have that throwing your head back into the headrest kinda feel.

My girlfriend has a 89 SC, and its not all that great. It lags when you step since the power comes from the supercharger. Takes like 1-2 seconds before power is made and by then a SBC would be off the line.

lol you tool
a 302 IS a 5.0 Of course there are variations of the 302, hence the ****ty 5.0 the late 80's tbirds got and the mustang 302 H.O. both are 302's you ********..I was mearly poking fun at the comment you made when it contradicted itself..but it appears your intelligence level isn't high enough to realize that
302s are crap I swaped in a 87 5.0 out of a Mustang gt in my old tbird.

You STILL don't get what I was saying so I'm saying it one more time..you said 302's suck and that you swapped in a 5.0..um hello isn't a 302 of a 5.0...I fully understand the swap you did and it makes sense...was just pointing out that it was worded oddly..you CAN'T seem to understand that....

because they are the same basic engine a 302 is a 5.0. It is one thing to say that you replaced a 302 (5.0) with one with higher HP/TQ ratings, but to say you replaced a 302 with a 5.0 is just dumb since both the engines you are speaking of are 302s or 5.0s, same difference.
It's like saying someone replaced and LG4 with a 5.0 Chevy. An LG4 is a 305 which is a 5.0, one of many 305/5.0 variations.

Tony, you were right.
As for the Tbird, depends on whats in it. My mom has a practically stock 97 (I took off the air restricto... err... silencer, thats all I did) and I have a handful of 15.5 timeslips, even a 15.4. Could have run better if I had run the car more than 4 times at the track. Better watch yourselves.

You can make almost everything run 11's that is highly modded, it just a matter of money. But as said before if its a non sc 3.8 you will stomp him, i think if its a stock 3.8 sc you will win, accually i think you will win either way.

Thats weird, I asked a guy who knows the tbird guy if it was a 3.8 or a 4.6, and he was like "WTF, its a Ford, its a 5.0". I told him I didnt know that they got 5.0's and he replied "yah, but its a special Nascar Edition and they got the 5.0".
Im actually not even sure the decals are real and couldnt find anything on the internet that backed it up either.
Either way, I want to race him.
