Raced, (well he tried anyway) a v6 firebird
Comin home from work yesterday a 85 (same year as mine) firebird stopped next to me at a light.( the guy works across from my work , his car is a 3.1, he talks non stop about how great of a motor it is) Revved his engine a couple of times. I ignorred him at first but when i got to the next light he looked right over at me and did it again. So I just kept my eyes on the light, when it changed I didnt stomp on it instead i pressed the pedal almost halfway down, he poped the clutch and chirpped a tire After my car stopped spinnin the tires ( I need larger tires VERY bad) I went approx two tractor trailor lengths infront of him with half a pedal left and stayed there to the next light. When he got there he wouldnt even look over at me. I cant wait to go to work monday and hear his excuse. Hes one of those v6 guys who thinks the v6 cars handle better (even though he cant keep up with me on the turns on the way to work) and are just as fast as the v8s.
Funny thing is his car has "nos" stickers on it. Flowmaster sticker on the window, wide rear tires with very skinny front tires. No muffler ( dont ask me why he has the flowmaster sticker) And is slow as hell!
This hasnt been the first race since we did the motor swap but it is the funniest!

He said he put it in because the 2.8 blew and he got the 3.1 for $600 and besides "ITS A STROker"
He says hes gonna buy a "NOS" kit and go to the track and run 12's I told him about this site. He'd fit right in with the v6 section.
He has said in the past he could "smoke my car because it weighs more with the v8 in it" Nevermind that i have alot more hp and tq then he does.
About your 400. If you dyno it you'd probably be surprized. A friend of mine has a 400 and while it doesnt have a huge amout of hp the tq number is nutts.

cool
yea but if i had a blown 2.8 a 350,355, 327,383 stroker a real stroker or a 400small block would take its place. not a stroked 3.1 like whats the point in strokeing a motor that small. when u could upgrade to a small block for better sound and speed.
