If he was running a 14.2 before, I don't think so, but a Honda on only 6psi of boost isn't anything special. I was just going to say that he's probably only running 6 or 7 psi anyway, because thats about all a stock Prelude motor can take because the H22 motor have weak rings I guess. He's probably not very fast. I might even put him at a 14.2 now, which would give your car a run, but you'd still beat him.

That's a very nice cam. I have it in my motor, and it works great. My car isn't tuned whatsoever right now and its still running pretty decent...especially considering its cammed, headed, and not even a LTR setup anymore.
Hard to say with the Prelude though. I'd say you guys will be VERY close. Race from a dig.

How can you possibly argue that a race with no skill involved (from the driver) doesn't determine who has the fastest car?
If you win on skill, that doesn't say anything about what your car can do at all.

ok.. enough skill to push the pedal and keep the steering wheel straight and shifting at proper time.
yes a roll would tell whos car is faster but then its not whos car is faster its "who would win" as title indicates.

lol as i am the original poster, im not posting for my own 'pride' im just being sacrastic with what kairles said...
no need to get fiesty man.. we can all be friends.
from a dig , its gonna be a close match.
now when you talk racing from a roll, it also could depend on the speed , low speeds you still encounter tire spin, i guess higher highway speeds though could be good to tell as well.

i have the canfield 195's and actually the same cam you mentioned .. 224/230 duration comp cams
Man if you get those canfields on your going to be making some serious power! I've seen flow numbers that put those heads second to only AFR. An with that cam you should be looking at 330 at the wheels if properly tuned.

I'd say maximize your car's talents, which is torque. Force him to launch from a stop. If you can control your wheel spin, he's not going to keep up with you. And even if his turbo gives him harder midrange acceleration, it's a lot harder to win if you're playing catch up.
If you want to even the score, a small shot of nitrous might be in order. If he gets to be boosted, you can too. But you may not have anything to worry about. He'll give you more of a fight with a turbo, you might be about evenly matched, I think. That won't help his launch, and that might make the difference. FWD cars are usually sucky in 60 foot times. I know my old turbo Shelby Charger really sucked out of the hole, and would have to play catch up. Force him into his weakness and I think you'll still beat him, even with a turbo.

thanks, im fairly decent with launching, the stealthram kills power down low so i can usually step into it quickly. and the auto takes care of fast shifting (though i do manually shift it)
time to let him know im ready to race.
if i do run him. ill post results here.

I know that, but these guys are acting like racing from a roll is worthless. It tells a lot about who has the faster car. That's why even though I only ran a ****ty 13.8 in my car, I was still proud that it trapped at 106 nearly every single time.

if my slower car can take them off the line then i am happier with my car rather then a 'faster' car that cant go from a stop. thats just the way i am. i see wher eyou coming from now with the pride thing though but thats a lil extreme, these are just cars. and a hobby.

yeah but you don't always get the chance to race from a stop either.
there have been quite a few times I am on the freeway in the middle of the night and some other car comes up and tries to race me. like hell am I going to stop I'm just going to go for it from a roll.
also since I used to auto-x a bit there was really only one time we started from a stop. if you start from a stop anywhere else your kinda screwed
which by the way that has happened to me. first gear and a decreasing radius turn taken a little too hot trying to exit it... yeah started to spin but got her undercontroll again only thing was I was stopped
