So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

What would be the best way to confront the campus police officer of this?
There are a bunch of kids at my school with sports cars, jeeps, trucks etc that I KNOW will do burnouts. But only for graduation and we have a lhuge parking lot with no light poles or anything. IT would be perfect.

Also, the skid marks wouldn't be a problem because they hold an autocross there all the time.

Any ideas?
I thought this would be the best place to post.

get the group together and ask the school officials if you could do something. Try to make a good presentation of what you want to do and how it will be safe, and see what they say.

Since it is your graduation and you normally have those once in a lifetime, just have fun with it. Don't approach anybody about it. At least thats what we did at my school. I dont know about your school. Just my opinion.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

Find out how the autocrosses are arranged/Who the autocross club contacts.

If presented to them in a professional/oversee'd manner, they might go for it. Keep in mind that the autocross club most likely pays for use of the lot. Perhaps the Seniors that wanted to partipate would be willing to chip in towards lot "rental"?

And doing it with the entire school present would almost certainly not get permission. Only when the lot is empty & clear was all other cars & the burnout area was dedicated & a GUARANTEE that no other cars would be nearby. The other 3 grades would think it is OK to do & join in, then do at other times throughout the year.

Would this be a simple standing burnout, or a circular/car in motion burnout? In motion would almost certainly not be allowed. Keep in mind that for an autocross, the participants have to sign a written agreement that the property owners are in no way responsible for any damage to their car.

Be willing to allow a police presence & everyone keeps the tire smoking within the designated area & you'd have a better chance. ONE car leaves the lot smoking its tires & the whole would get shut down IMMEDIATELY (besides the driver getting a ticket), and ruining it for everyone else waiting their turn.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

The just doing it is out of the question.
Stephen, it would only be stand still and I was thinking the students watching could only be a way back behind the car or on the sidewalks. This is a VERY big area. I'll take pictures tomorrow.

Police Presence would be a requirement as I don't want anyone getting hurt or wrecking their car.

It sounds like a huge liability. In other words I doubt they'd be down with an idea like that.

I was really the only one with a good car for this when I graduated, and I just did it and left a big cloud behind.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

in our school, a bunch of people do burnouts every day. some also bomb the field next to the school, some bring there four wheelers/snowmobiles(i did this thursday and friday). they dont care as long as your not disturbing the over achievers. the only time i got yelled at was going to fast in the lot with my saturn, and friday they said i couldnt do a wheelie across the parking lot with my built AC zr500, i did. the VP came out screaming so i took off. cant wait until monday. detention here i come.lol. but were a school of 400 6-12 graders

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

well i did a fat burnout when i graduated, popped off the t tops, jumped in with my GF at the time, dumped the clutch and laid a nice mark down as i left i lost my cap in the process though lol

its highly doubtable that the school would allow you to do it, theres too much risk involved if youre gonna do it just do it, but dont be dumb about it, i used to go to school like a half hour early and slide around the parking lot with my neightbor who had a 5.0 mustang, security used to block off part of the lot for us to screw around it was pretty fun so i guess the "graduation burnout" wasnt such a huge thing to me lol but it was still fun

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

Id personally just do it, my senior year, i did a long burn out on the last day of school, (half day) ha the teacher still teaching a class stopped to even watch. Left a hefty cloud of smoke on my old tires leaving the parking lot. everybody accept me and my buddy were to chicken to do it. Well most of my other friends had 4 cylinders lol, so they couldnt really generate the power

I doubt the school would let you do it, I wouldn't even bother asking. Once you get your diploma and you know you probably won't be coming back, just wing it! That's what I'm gonna do when I graduate HS this June.

My senior event was a party off-campus. Some guy that graduated the year before ended up getting shot in the chest over a fudge pop-sicle. Your plan sounds pretty good now huh?

its the same as the kids that roll around and spray paint 10! or whatever the grad year is all over the school in spray paint... leave your mark, light them up in front of the place, end of the day on the last day, dig holes in the pavement lol youll be fine as long as no cops are there, dont mean to be "that guy" but as long as theres no proof the soccer moms that run that place can do anything, its always a good time for everyone, especially on the last day!

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

i went to hs in jersey and my school was very strict about having no fun on our last day. so what did we do? loaded my buddies car (stock 98 z28) onto my car trailer behind my truck and he sat there and spun the tires on the trailer while i drove around in the parking lot. my principal came up to meand said if only i put that much thought and effort into my schoolwork!!! haha...no one got in trouble and im sure they still talk about it to this day.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

I'd definitely say do it on your own accord, personally my graduation was held off campus after school had been let out. So some of us did burnouts in the parking lot or leaving the campus before hand. However they did say, if they caught any of us in said celebration or other shenanigans, our diplomas would not be awarded to us - EVAR.

Why is it that being told not to do something makes it even more enjoyable? Anyway, they obviously didn't know who the guy in the blue Formula was.

Like Nike tells the poor kids in sweat shops "Just do it."

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

Alright I guess Ill put my two cents it.
Here in Camdenton Mo, we have over 270 Cameras in my school. Its a prtty good sized school with 400 in my graduating class, we dont really have to many problems with violence or anything like that, but when there is a problem they catch it. This is a topic that a bunch of people have brought up and they had similar ideas with goin to the school about it, but honestly do you think your school will allow ANY chance of someone gettin hurt, the only way I see the school bein ok with it would be if you were to doing it like a burnout contest, where they have one car go at a time and standing still. I personally dont trust half the people that would want to do a burnout, you have the people that know cars and know how to do burnouts and then u have the retards that see everyone else doin one so they hop in their vehicles and try. Our campus police on top of everything are actual city cops and they will write u a ticket as soon as the tires spin and they def arnt happy on that day. I got caught doing a burnout earlier this year and I lost all privlages and had to get to the red card lot (we have a card system red is where u cant do anything, cant go to events, cant park in the parking lot, no hall passes, etc.) My VP tried to have one of the cops write me a ticket but he was standing behind me tryin not to laugh the whole time as she was PMSin, he was probably laughin because I smoke out half our parking lot(very big parking lot) in my moms 4 door cavalier with a donut on the front passanger side.

All in all, if you can get away with it dont hesitate. As for me YES Im doin a burnout, I just pray that I dont get a ticket.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

I highly doubt a school would go for this lol, but I come from a city school with a **** load of kids, and its fairly strict on security. I lost my senior parking privelege power sliding my camry before anyone was at the school (stupid cameras....) I say just do it, and leave lol, leave a lasting impression, we did it at our school and no one got in trouble, at least from what I know.

Re: So I want to work it out that we (seniors) have a graduation burnout

When I graduated, the seniors got out a week before everyone else and pretty much created a spectacle infront of the entire school (they came out and watched). The school cops (over the hill rent-a-cop types) and the city police would be there, en mass. When they let us out, my friends and I all poured bleach on our tires (A-Team van style). I had a 00 Grand Cherokee (slow as hell) and just nailed it. Smoke was flying like no other. The cops came running over, but by the time they got there I was done and gone. Then a kid slammed his dad's brand new F-350 diesel duelly into a brand new police cruiser trying to break the tires loose around a corner.

My advice, have fun and don't be stupid.
