Yeah, I contacted a mod. You don't belong here at all with an attitude like that. Normally I'd point out your horrible English, or laugh at your little "mayne u wudnt say dat to mai face" e-thug game, but it'd be pointless.

I'm really scared of the big bad 21 year old.

Hmmmm....March 2011 join date. Go away troll, we don't need your BS here. And believe me if that was my mustang you ran off the road and pulled a bat out I would preceed to pull my .40 S&W out and tell you to sit nice and tight till the cops got there. It's your attitude that gives street racing sections a bad name for people like me that enjoy it and do it on a regular basis.

Exactly man. This guy needs to go away or just keep that BS out of here. It really ticks me off when people give racing or just the car hobby in general a bad name. Especially when they're most likely making it up.

I enjoy running on the street if there's no other traffic, and try to keep it as safe as possible. When people bring up intentionally harming other car guys, they won't get a good response from me.

I didn't buy it for it's looks, trust me. I enjoy getting 34 mpg around town though and it is my beater so I drive it everywhere. I wasn't praising them, just saying that you called anyone with a civic dumb...and I own one.

Dude I don't care if you helped win WW2. Most of you army guys are on your high horse and think everyone should praise you. But guess what, your a person just like me or anyone else and if your an *** hole then we're going to treat you that way. And FYI I'm not an old dude. I'm 25. You sound like your typical internet bad boy. Think your so tuff behind your key board. Go join a tapout forum or something and you can argue with other dudes about how your bigger than them. This forum isn't for your crap.

Are you even old enough to own a pistol?

And sadly your bothering to compare trucks from different eras. Besides I don't want a dually that blows smoke and sounds like it's gonna die on me. I admit my dually isn't off much better at the moment but at least black smoke doesn't power out of it.

I'm guessing you mean my honda? It's completely stock except for my CD player and aftermarket speakers. Even has the steel wheels still with no hubcaps (how it came). If I ever modified that thing I'd have every car with a fartcan on it revving at me and wanting to race....I'd like to stay away from that lol. All it is is my daily driver. My TA is the car I'll get into when I want to have some fun or go fast.

I agree. except the part about the .40S&W. I'd rather whip out my 12 gauge pump.

Soooooo your comparing a full on built to the hill drag car that runs 8's to your stock daily driver and then you are saying they suck because they run a 15? Little extreme there! Compare them to other 4 cylinder N/A economy cars in the same class and then they don't look so bad.

That cobra jet is ABSOLUTELY NOT a street legal car. I personally know a guy that owns one. It has open headers from when you buy it, and no emmisions equipment or anything. I honestly don't even think it has functional lights, there just there for looks. That is a factory purpose built race car only. Also on the first link you posted where at the bottom it says "specifications" it also said this.... Factory built race car (not street legal...ever!)

I owned a 2008 shelby GT mustang. I know fords and they are nice cars for sure....but there is not, nor will there probably ever be a street legal 8 second car from the factory.

EDIT:

I actually just found a vid of the guy's cobra jet that I know at lebanon valley dragway. This track is about 45 mins from where I live. I was there once to see it run.

LOL, they'd know as soon as you turned the key with those open headers.

I def would love to drive a car like that on the street if it WAS legal though!

I bet you could take the extra 70,000 dollars you have left over when you buy the civic and get it into the 8s

Re: Douchebag civic driver

LOL.

I am guilty of giving in to the "ricers" and other people trying to race me.

The 2 that stand out to me were about 4 months back (when car was running in superb condition) I went to In-N-Out in my city for a late night burger on a Friday night. Must've been some sort of wanna be 2Fast2Furious get together because there were a minimum of 40 imports such as integras, civics, 240sx ect. and sure enough these three clowns in 2 civics (one coupe one hatch) and their buddy in some sort of mazda sedan follow me for about 2 miles as I left trying to get me to race.. I finally gave in at a light and floored it, blew the doors off them. At the next light one of the guys accused me of "squeezing" saying NO STOCK 3rd gen would bark the tires from first to second gear. Ran him at the light and waxed him again by about 3 car lenghts. They then kept trying to follow me again but I lost them. (Apparantly their cars weren't made for cornering and couldn't handle so well. LOL)

And my fav, The weekend I bought my car I went to Kragen and had this mid/late 80's 5.0 Mustang pull up in front of me after tailgating me for about a mile and rev up so I return the favor. Not sure what he did but he went to rev again and the "rustang" died on him. He wound up having to call AAA to tow him home, while I got in my Trans-Am and left. (here's a picture of the rustang with the hood up. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...984/IMG095.jpg)

I've been in a similar situation. Except I became pretty decent friends with the group, after beating their two little hot shot built Civic hatches. Tons of other cars were to the sides, but my camera blows, so I didn't even bother going back far enough to capture the other hatch.

That really sucks for him. My Rustang runs absolutely great. With the combination of the 3.73s and 6 speed, my gearing is spot on for anything from 0 to 150, and keeps the rpms low enough to achieve 29+ MPG at 60-65. ~1,850 RPM @ 60, just barely above lugging it.

The 130+ MPH flyby was actually recorded by a member of the little meets, owner of an '05 Subaru STI.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I don't know how many times I have been sitting at a car cruise in and some snot nosed punk does what he calls a burn out and tries to impress other snot nosed rice burners. We have a bunch of signs from 0 to 10 and actually rate them. I usually give them a 0 no matter how good it actually is. But, there have been a few that get caught by the police, I give them a 9 or 10.. Don't waste your time with them, They can get their little tinker toys with itty-bitty turbo's and still no impress 95% of true muscle car owners. We have more pride, and I know I have more power.. They will lose and they are losers.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I was hanging in front of my brothers house and I had my iroc parked outside. We were just talking and I was leaning on my car. Some *******s in a mid 90s hatchback civic and stupid mufflers drives by. He stops and revs it and then drives off. I wish he would of stayed a little longer bc a guy drove by in a 69 black Chevelle. Beautiful car and loud. He also did a burn out. I would of love to see what that civic would of done. Another time I am just driving and I am at a light some guy in a newer civic (not even an SI) revs his fart can like I was suppose to be scared. So I am driving around later and then I see him parked outside a house, I pull up and revved mine, I don't think he liked that lol.

How can you have a car so slow it runs a 17 second 1/4 mile and not get it to hook? On a track it should barely have enough power to chirp the tires with a full on smash the pedal!

Now, as for the OP. I'm going to say something that will PROBABLY **** alot of people off.

If this was a newer Civic SI, say a 2006+ model and your IROC is a stock 305TPI/A4, then you would have been in for a rude awakening from a roll race.

197hp.
close ratio 6spd (6th gear redlines @ 130mph). Most pass the 1/4 traps in 5th gear.
2900lbs.

1/4 mile in the low to mid 14's average trapping 94-98mph. Some faster than that.

Motortrend got the '12 SI to go 15's @ 92mph. And we al know how MT, R&T, C&D are when it comes to 1/4 mile figures, all too soft on the launches and afraid to truly ring a cars bell.

I'm all for Thirdgens, F-bodies, and American cars, but that doesn't mean I have to be ignorant of the competition out there. Afterall, its why I own TWO Pontiacs. And while my G6 is a silver coupe that looks like a girls car it still traps near 95mph and for a daily driver thats good enough, especially when I knock down 36mpg on the way to the track.

My LT1/T56 swap out of an 96' Impala SS nailed 34mpg on a 160mph Road Trip to Road America.

Course, all of that was nullified in the two hours I actually spent ON Track getting like 9mpg. But it was soo much FUUUUUNNNNN.

I actually just found a vid of the guy's cobra jet that I know at lebanon valley dragway. This track is about 45 mins from where I live. I was there once to see it run.

They say that cobrajet ONLY makes 480hp? 480hp of BS. That car has to be making more than 480hp to be trapping 150mph! I don't think they could get that car light enough for 480hp to make a 150mph drag car. It would have to be near the low 2000lbs area.

Similar story with the new COPO they wont release any 1/4 mi times not street legal cannot be registered/tagged for the street
Purpose built race car.

Too bad it would be fun to see one sneaking around on the street.

Try actually racing one sometime. You won't be as gung ho when you lose eventually. I've lost to two 4 cylinder cars so far. An SR20DET 240sx, and a 2012 Subaru WRX. I've ran into one naturally aspirated, gutted B series Del Sol that could almost hang with me. Then I had a modded supercharged Cobalt SS DEAD EVEN with me until nearly 100 MPH, when I finally at least got my front bumper out a little bit.

While I've only lost to one V8 car so far. A built, auto, 3 valve Mustang.

I've smoked 2010(?) subaru wrx sti. My car has around 350hp and 450lb.ft torqs so its definitely not stock. I've raced few times. Got beaten only by my dads supercharged SRT-10. and yea porsche boxster on highway pull. he stood no chance thats about it. not racing against polos and golfs etc, waste of fuel

Living where you live I'm shocked you don't have a better respect for some of the hot hatches that are available to you. Here in the US the hot-hatch market is pretty underwhelming. There are a few true performers like the 2008 Cobalt SS/TC, and the earlier Neon SRT-4s. But over in Europe you've got the Vauxhaul Astra VXR, Renault Megane RS, and the Ford Focus ST, and Focus RS.

I find all of this suspect. You waxed a '10 WRX STi, but you lost to a Boxter?

Check up on his previous posts. He has no idea if it has heads/cam, or if its just bolt-ons.

Far as he knows its a L98 with headers/exhaust and probably no intake mods. Aka 350hp impossible. He's never been to the track, and I seriously doubt he's actually raced anyone in any kind of environment that would allow him to measure his cars performance in any way.

I find any such claims of 350hp TPIs suspect when people can't tell me what heads/cam are on the car, or any of the other mods because they aren't knowledgeable enough to tell the difference. Especially so when they haven't been to a track and gotten hard numbers.

My LT1 swap with bolt-ons didn't have 350hp, because of the smaller B-body cam, trapped 103mph with a 3750lb race weight. The Trap/ET are real. The 320hp is based off the accepted HP calcs.

Have you ran an LSX car yet? If not, I can give you your second loss against a V8 ...

haha, just kidding. Don't mind me, I just haven't had a race in my Vette since purchasing it almost a year ago and I'm itching for a run. Probably gonna take it out tomorow and see if anything bites

You probably would give me my second loss against another V8. I've ran into two C5 coupes (Regular coupes, not fixed roofs) but neither would run. Older guy in an auto targa was acting like he was going to go, punched it, I went, he let off. Then another C5 was tailgating me early one morning, then riding dead even with me on an empty highway. I went down to 3rd gear @ 60 to get ready, then he fell behind.

Not sure why. It's a slow Mustang. Both would have beat me by a car or two even if 100% bone stock, but I was willing to race anyway.

My friend's LS2 trailblazer SS took the jump on me one night and I was even with it until 120+ where he finally pulled ahead a little. But it was a fun run, I had a passenger, lots of weight in the trunk, windows down, 1/2+ tank of gas. 395 horsepower stock, his is tuned.

I don't exactly consider a fun run like that a loss. In ideal conditions, both with no passengers, even start, I win.

You understood me wrong, the boxster stood no chance, so I won and its not that i don't have respect, but i just happen to love american muscle. Every car that has been trying to get me racing has NOT been high end cars. Only young people with their first cars, trying to provoke and get me going fast. and as far as finland goes, cars here are all old. average car in finland is 12 years old.

As far as the mods go, i've found out that it HAS intake mods, heads, headers fuel pumps, cams, proms and plenty of other stuff done. edelbrock parts mostly. The previous owner got those installed by my friend who has workshop. I ended up buying the car trough the shop owner. He told all he remembered, and that car was built back in the 90's. He said that 350 crank ponies is not far fetched.

No track experience thats true, but the mechanic, who is a drag racer, told me a good amount of numbers, and I trust him. no BS here just saying

besides, focus st, clio rs etc is not considered as true performer car (it is, but people thinks its basic and just like the others) the thing is that Firebirds are considered here as an amazing car. People will actually stop and take pictures of it. Real american muscle/sport cars are seriously rare here. So I do respect, but when next to me comes a car which we both know that is going to lose, there is no need racing. They provoke me and I get back to them. I Most definitely did not mean to sound disrespectful or any sort of negative.

Imports are nice but Camaro's , well they are American heritage and history. I get so many compliments on my 92 camaro rs that needs a paint job and alot more , and with all that i still get "awesome car" or "damn that things a beast" or my favorite lol yea thats that old school camaro those things are fast" . There's not many out there that just adds sex appeal to them because people want what they cant have ! preach it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laughed pretty hard at "had to turn down guns and roses" and "can't race, i'm overheating" Probably happened to every 3rd gen owner in history haha.

All kidding aside, I usually don't bother with them either, it's never competitive, and on the off chance they keep up or get ahead all I can hear is am extremely loud PO'd beehive buzzing next to me. Waste of gas.
