okay so my friend has a 02 ss camaro with CAI, 1 3/4 LT headers, complete flowmaster cat back exhaust, Xtreme RPM High Lift 281 (XR281HR)comp cam with 1.7 comp rockers, new valve springs, 112 degree lsa, stock heads are ported and polished, ls6 manifold fast 92 intake with a ported T.B., Meziere electric water pump, and a performance tune from a shop in sac
car is not a daily driver...taken him 5years to put this all together
Vs
a rich kid that goes to our college CSU Stanislaus(go warriors) has a 07 Cadillac XLR-V with a 4.4L supercharged northstar V8(443hp stock) but he has a performance kit 4rm D3...stage 1.5 includes stage 1&2 intake(it looks like a complete CAI)both add 60hp and a Electronic Tuning Module(plug and play) adds 20-30 hp #'s 4rm D3site
looked at the car and it has what he says
this race was on but the XLR-V guy went back home for the week so it's on when he gets back
who do you think will win from a dead stop...lets here what you think

Re: who would win?
I'm gonna go with the camaro. Think the caddy is heavier and sounds like the camaro has more done to it. Also depends on who the better driver is. IDK? Line 'em up! Let us know!

The Cliche Rich Kid Cant Drive, They Never Started Out With Beaters To Learn How To Drive, You Baby A Nice Caddy Like That Unless Youre Mental Or Can Actually Drive. The Guy With 5 Years In A Build Im Sure Knows What He's Doing, And I Agree With The Camy Being Lighter. Id Bet On The Camy

Re: who would win?
You're telling me the caddy makes around 580-600FW hp?
Your friend might be looking at about 460-485FW hp?
The curb weight on that Caddy is like 3850 lbs and the Camaro is close to 3500 lbs.
Even if the Caddy is auto and the SS is manual the numbers break down to 460ish+ HP & like 410ish HP. Without factoring gearing, traction or human error; even if your friend can shift perfectly I can't see him winning... unless the Caddy is manual and the kid gets out-shifted by .3-.5 of a second! If your buddy is geared lower I can see him winning but this is based off very "giving" power estimates for your friends car. If I was to bet money on it as a spur of the moment thing, I wouldn't be putting my faith into the Camaro.

Re: who would win?
I'm going to say the caddy will win. My boss has a 560hp supercharged cts-v mostly stock except an intake, exhaust, and slicks and has laid down a 11.5 but he knows how to drive it. I'm sure even a dummy could put down 12sec in that car. I'm not sure bout front wheel drive tho

Re: who would win?
The Engine Is Good (: If An LS9 Or An LSX Out Of The Brand New Camaros, Im Sure With A Little Suspension Work Too, The Third Gen Camy Will Out Do The 5th. All In All It Comes Down To The Driver. I Can Smoke My Mom In A Ford Escort Even If She Was Driving A Corvette. Shes Scared To Drive Like A Man Haha So Just Hope The Camy's Driver Has *****

Re: who would win?
fyi "Camy" is closer to "camry" ( 4 banger toyota) than it is to camaro. real words are appreciated
and yeah the xlr is gonna walk the camaro unless your friend has the driver mod and the xlr does not. but tires will make a huge difference from a dig, i don't remember if you gave tire specs or not?

Re: who would win?
Why Are Some People Typing Like This? Seriously, are you 12yrs old? I didn't know kids could own a "Camy"
So does this Camaro have a LS6 intake or a FAST 92? Like a few others said it's going to come down to traction and driver skill.

Seriously? You Really Have Nothing Else Better To Do? I Dont Smoke So This Is My Habit. I Love My Shift Key Like Other Love Nicotine. Get Over Yourself, Some People Name Their Cars, Stupid Names, Like People Name Their Dog Spot. Dont Be So Self Centered, This Isnt The Place For It.

Re: who would win?
It's gonna come down to a few things... TIRES, suspension mods, driver and whether or not either has a big stall to go with sticky tires, if an automatic.
Take two identical cars but put DR's on one and it won't be a close race. If they are both auto's and the one with DR's has a stall too, it's five or six cars easy. Add a drag suspension like the Camaro likely has and you can figure another couple of cars.
All things being equal.. The true CAR GUY will win because his car will be right and he'll know how to get the most of it.
