Wrong buddy. My cousin just turned 27. He bought himself a brand new GT for his birthday and wont stop talking about the mods he wants to do.

I disagree as well. None of my mustang freinds are old ladies or rich kids, they've all bought their cars themselves just like the rest of my freinds (and myself) did. They're no different than us, you can't stereotype people by the car they have. We get branded as ****** headed rednecks sometimes by rice kids on this board (some just joke though). Lotsa import guys automatically get labeled as ricers even if they aren't (like RX7 he's cool). Sticking the rich kid label on mustangs is doing the exact same thing.

I'm no old lady, nor am I a 16 year old kid. I'm a 20 year old political science/law student on a very limited budget. I've bought all my Mustangs off the wholesale lot at work with the most expensive being the 92 convertible I payed $2600 for. I don't really fit your stereotype too well, do I?

You're generalizing based on assumption. No I don't call everthing rice this and rice that. I think you're trying to recaputre some of your pride after making an idiot out of yourself.

Whats with some of these newer (30-50 posts or so) members lately! If you guys keep acting like this your're gonna get dealt with by some of the more established members, plain and simple.

He wasn't trying to threaten you with violence, just saying it's funny how some newbies can come in here and.....

1. Rekindle flames that have already been extinguished.
2. Bring up non-theoretical/non-tech discussions.
3. Walk in and try to own the place.

Nobody owns this place, besides Dirk. Bringing up old flames is never good news, so that's why the ones that were flaming were locked. If you bring up non-theoretical/non-tech, it will most likely be locked because of the fact that it could start flames. Fire bad.

Plus idrag2 has asked us to keep this board in line, because we've been around since this site went wacky, and we know the rules. We, personally can't do anything about any of that, but we can tell idrag2 or Z28racer about it.

Oh yeah, threats are breaking the rules of this site, and you could be banned. Just wanting to say that before it happens.

I wasn't threatening, I just meant the guys who have been here a while are gonna 'check people who are causing problems and let them know their attitudes are not appreciated. I wasn't saying I was gonna kick yours or anything. Ws6 got what I was saying an re-stated it pretty good. I'm done with this thread its not worth my time.

what is the point of this post ? seriously , sit back and reflect on what you have written , and find some meaning in it . ill give you a cookie if you can .

fact is mustangs are here to stay . i have a soft spot for the 5.0 notchback lx's . especially in black with 5 spoke pony rims . Granted , i own a z28 and wouldnt give it up for the world , but saying things like that is stupid and taking it too far . this is a place where all of us can get together and talk cars . i for one know i have had my clock cleaned by plenty of mustangs , they arent bad cars at all . granted some of thier owners are childish and only bought the car because it said mustang on it , but you dont think the same stereotype applies to fbodies ?

the chevy vs ford debate has to be the most pointless argument for any two people to have , your never going to win , your just going to run out of breath trying

I think it is kinda stupid to get upset about a thing like this, who cares? I know of several middle aged women who want ridiculous cars (V8 Sports cars and SUV's)... granted I love the power of a V8, but you have to admit, we aren't driving very practical cars (I can tow 3000+ lbs though LOL).

But biased sounding observations can be made that actually do apply in real life to certain areas of the country.

You would not believe the number of middle-age or younger women who come on our lot and buy Expeditions and Excursions! That's the whole market right there! Soccer-moms and whatnot.

Personally, I was always more of a Mustang fan than a Camaro fan. My dream car was, and is, a '65 Fastback. However, since I was given my 84 Camaro, I am going to do my best to fix it up and learn while I am doing it. Maybe eat a little rice along the way. Mind you, I am not saying that I dislike Camaro's, just that I have preferred Mustangs. But, I like my Camaro, and I truly enjoy driving it, and i hope that I can do it justice by learning enough to fix it up nice. After all, that is what it is all about, or what it should be all about. Your car is a reflection of you, and you should have fun with it. Not this pointless squabbling over meaningless issues.

I only have 2 posts, but I was forced to switch my name from 89mustang to 5.0mustang. Yes i am 16 and yes I own a Mustang. But thats were the similarities end. I bought it out of my pocket. I pay gas prices, insurance, and bought the car myself. I too see these stereotypes, but where I live most spoiled 16 year olds drive RICE BURNERS!!!
