TBI VS Fox body mustangs
Hey all, so in comparison to the fox body mustangs (5.0's) what third gen(stock vs stock) is a good match up for them? Either a dig from a dead stop or a pull from 20mph roll?
Just curious........
Ok truth comes out, the reason i ask is because my buddy got a 91 mustang 5.0 and he wanted to do a little run so we did. We first did a pull from 20mph rolling start. I took him by about 2-1/2 car lengths before we came upon traffic infront of us (which wasnt far at all) so we came to a stop light head to head and decided to go on green. Well it wasnt pretty for him, i blew his doors off leaving him in the dust. As i was about to shift into 3rd he was about 4-5car lengths behind me, and it got bigger. So im just wondering where my L05 stands up to L98's?

Re: TBI VS Fox body mustangs
So is this car running nitrous, boost, supercharge, or being pushed by the hand of god? Wait I'm not even sure the hand of god could move a TBI car to beat a 5.0 mustang. Maybe he really wasn't racing?
EDIT: oops just realized you have a LO5. or the 350 TBI. I was thinking the LO3. My mistake and in this case I do believe the hand of god might actually be able to help you win a race against a 5.0 mustang.

What exactly have you done to that LO5? The old fox bodys with 5spd would sometimes outrun my old Lb9 z28. I always blew the doors off the automatics. My car did run extremely well for what it was though at high 14's.I would say you may outrun a bone stock L98 but with a few mods "headers, cam, exhaust ,etc, an L98 can be a formidable opponent
