quick question on TTA's
why did they give it a TC V6? and the same thing for Grand Nationals...TC V6??? why not a TC V8.
Is it because of reliability problems?

Well buick was into the whole v6 during thise days with the indy motor stuff. Plus I think it was also a way to show future technology and smaller motors potential?

callaway did a twin turbo L98, but it was expensive, it required a total engine rebuild and a $25000 increase over the base corvette price

Yeah the L98 Turbo would have been a real gound stomper but the reason the 3.8 worked so well was because it was being developed since the late 70s ('78,'79) and it's development peaked '86 and '87 and those are the years that got the T/C 3.8 respect. Do you think the hot air carbed 3.8 turbo engines in say 1980 (Regals and Monte Carlos) get any respect from the V8s? Probably not. It took a long time to get that engine to where it was.
